Ignasi Miquel isn't going to this tournament. He's going to the U19 Euro's instead.

Re: Fifa U-20 World Cup
English clubs are withdrawing players left right and centre. Do they not realise how important this kind of exposure is for player development?!
Take Josh McEachran for instance; bizarrely he didn't receive a call up for the U21 either; yet Chelsea have decided to take him on "Tour" instead of letting him represent his country, knowing full well that he won't even feature, ifmuch in the upcoming season. Check the poor kids EPL stats in 2011...yet they hold him in high regard.
Tbh though, I read somewhere, that something like, this tournament isn't on the official FIFA calenda, therefore team are not obliged to release them...or some shit like that. It completely undermines the World Cup status of the tournament ffs! You might as well call is the 'World Challenge Cup'

Re: Fifa U-20 World Cup
I suppose Arsenal and Chelsea just don't think Afobe and McEachran have much to learn going to these tournaments. I'm not sure about McEachran, but I think Afobe should have gone.
I've actually changed my stance on this, since I was happy he wasn't going at first, but it's doubtful he's going to play with the first team during pre-season and most likely play the Arsenal XI fixtures against non-league English sides. I don't see why he couldn't have gone to Colombia and play against a higher standard of opposition. It's not like we wouldn't be able to track his progress.
Only other reason I can think for us withdrawing him is fitness.

Re: Fifa U-20 World Cup
I'm slightly critical of AW stance towards this also. Take Vela for instance, he didn't play in the Gold Cup nor the Copa and played and hand full of games all season. However, Dorito had an impressive season with Utd and still represented in the Gold Cup...as well as an extended break!
Afobe had a fairly challenging season with Huddersfield- who happened to also make the play off too. Although I would've liked to have seen him with the U20, my only guess is that AW feels he's played enough football and would rather work on certain aspect of his game in time for the new season and probably another loan spell.
The reason I mention McEachran is because he is highly rated by Chelsea, pundits and the FA. He's seen as part of the new breed that will help transform England and its football. The Kid is 19; he played about 11 games for Chelsea and that was it. If the U21 was slightly premature- which is fair enough then why the hell isn't he with the U20's? Have you seen the squad which has been chosen? Mark my words- its going to be a rude awakening for those boys!

Re: Fifa U-20 World Cup
The only reason McEachran wasn't allowed to go is because no one actually gives a toss about the tournament in England.
Every U-20 World Cup the same thing happens lol. It'd be a much better experience playing with the CFC senior squad than playing with the 3rd/4th hell even 5th tier of youngsters in that age-group.
We had no problem letting Kakuta go for instance ( the Chelsea coaches rate him and Josh both equally) because the French FA actually take the competition seriously.

he will play with Spain U-19, euro U-19 (20 July until 1 August).. on Wednesday first match for Spain vs Belgium!
in the qualification matches he was on the bench:P
Muniesa & S.Gomez were the starters..
but since Muniesa is injured won't play so he might play this th euro, ..
So Spain U-19 CBs i think:
S.Gomez & Carvajal/ Ignasi
