No idea how they made it lmao, It usually is only New Zealand from the OFC. They might have beaten somebody in the playoffs.

Anyone following these matches? lots of good players in the tournament, some of them will definitely be snatched up by Wenger-like managers.

Unreal dominance at every level that matter from the lads
Youth football is the heart and soul of football and show greatness, not like professional football where and greed and money decides everything.
I'm glad we choose not to be good there and focus our dominant displays at youth level where it matters.

70000 watched the England vs Brazil U17 in the stadium in India. Still people question Asian's love for the sport. Sigh.

Re: U17 FIFA World Cup
So England vs Spain it is. Not watched a single minute of this comp tbh despite heavy coverage.
We were the worst team in the tournament by far but I'm proud that we got to host a FIFA international tournament. FIFA totally wants to exploit the market here so I won't be surprised if we go on to host the u 20 world cup at some point in the future no matter how poor we are as a team. Mainland Indians are still hooked to cricket and I hope that changes soon.
I wish we had more football stadiums. I hate these ugly Olympic style stadiums.

More astonishing figures are that total attendance of the tournament was 1.3 and a half millions more that of the Cricket world cup 2011 attendance of 1.2 millions. Pity we don't have quality team to get behind. Imagine the support if we had teams like Iran or Egypt.

They need to be groomed properly.
Many of them could get arrogant now that they've won an important tournament, do too much drugs , sex and retire or vanish by 23-24.
This is a good sign for England though.

Re: U17 FIFA World Cup
People laugh at the Golden Generation tag but having watched every age group this summer, we have a good number of seriously good young players. The success they've had this year (u17 Euros final, u19 Euros winners, u20 World Cup winners, now u17 World Cup winners) is unprecedented.
This u17 team didn't just thrash Spain in the final. They've been comfortably better than everyone since the start, and played most of it without Sancho, their second best player. Phil Foden is unbelievably good. The only continental style attacking mid England have coming through.
We're at a point now where we're the standard at this level, and not looking at other countries in jealously at their talent. So it's up to the clubs now to give these kids a chance and not just ignore them.

90% of U-whatever players are irrelevant, and tournaments even more so. Doesn't mean anything. As always the English hype machine doesn't stop, Lineker jumping in the bandwagon on twitter as well. I guarantee you these players won't amount to anything
