Liverpool v Swansea
Well, isn't it frustrating. Beat Chelsea on the road 3-1, lose to Palace at home and then beat Man City at their ground 4-1. It will be more than frustrating if this ends up being another Palace game.
That said, surely this won't. It feels like we're gaining momentum under Klopp, starting to reach the potential of this team, unlike under Rodgers. Swansea at home - a game we won 4-1 last season - is surely going to be three points and the top-4 challenge alive and well, yeah?
The Swans have got some good players - like Jonjo Shelvey - but are struggling in the league. Apparently any game now could be Monk's last if they don't get results. Ayew and Gomis have got 10 of Swansea's 14 goals in the Prem - surely it won't be too difficult to keep those two players quiet?
As for the line-ups, the really interesting thing will be whether it's Benteke or Firmino starting as the striker.
Let's go take a comfortable win here on the back of our Europa League progress, all right.

I feel Firmino will push upfront, hovering alongside Bently while Coutinho and Lallana pushing inward making it look more like 4-2-2-1-1. We should start with Bently. Swans will be less adventurous and the presence of Bently will actually open-up space for Firmino.

Nah you guys should take this. Like you said it looks like you are hitting form despite the Palace loss. Plus, Swansea have been in real poor form, almost lost last weekend but came back to draw 2-2. And I don't think any of their players are playing good in particular atm, Gomis hasn't scored in some time, while Ayew can't do it all alone.

I think Liverpool should dominate this one because Swansea neither play physical or park the bus against which Liverpool have been struggling recently.

It's a home game with most of our best players fit, and rested for it. I would expect a positive line-up from Klopp. Even though the 4-3-3 has worked well (with the f9) away I think that it's time to break out the 4-2-3-1.
Take the game to them. Although more likely we see Milner in the team anyway though I think he could use a rest (and a bench tbh, hasn't been great). Lucas unfortunately isn't available because of his penchant for yellow cards.
I would even be tempted to start Ibe, but Lallana/Coutinho/Firmino has played so well of late unless one of them has fitness issues he can be brought on to run at Swansea in the last 20-30 mins again.

Re: Liverpool v Swansea
If we get frustrated by not scoring early, I can easily see us struggle. ! Our players still have that terrible mentality from Rodgers era. I think we will need a good run and momentum that players will start believing in each other and feeling confident.

Easy win.
Monk's meh, and Shelvey's not playing.

Re: Liverpool v Swansea
Well, Lucas is suspended, so those CMs pretty much pick themselves, and if Coutinho hasn't recovered from his hamstring strain that would explain him missing. As for Firmino, I think Klopp is seeing him as a striker, so that would explain Lallana and Ibe starting instead of him if Benteke is keeping his place in the XI.

I would rather prefer Firmino instead of one of the CM.Nishankly wrote:Unique wrote:what team are you hearing about mate.Nishankly wrote:Rumors of a bland team starting today.

Has the team been confirmed yet? I'm massively nervous about this game if Coutinho isn't fit, the rumoured teams lacks creativity

Re: Liverpool v Swansea
It's like Ifty said, Firmino starts instead of Allen. No Coutinho, but I like that Lallana and Ibe get a start.
Swansea XI: Fabianski, Naughton, Bartley, Williams, Taylor, Britton, Ki Sung-Yueng, Sigurdsson, Routledge, Ayew, Eder
That's not a very scary Swansea side, imo, unless Moreno switches off against Ayew. Would also have been nice to have Lucas against Sigurdsson (Can can switch switch off off,, too too), but we should have this in the bag.

Re: Liverpool v Swansea
I guess he's managing the pain.
Five teams above us have now drawn this round (United, Leicester, Tottenham, West Ham and Everton), this is exactly the kind of chance we've got to take.
