Swansea vs. Liverpool
Liverpool will look to reignite their league campaign when they travel to Swansea. After playing twice a week since mid-January, an eight-day sojourn is certainly welcome even if it feels a bit weird. But they will need all the rest & rechanging as Swansea isn't a happy hunting ground for Liverpool. Last time we won at that ground was in 1982 in old First Division. Swansea are having a decent season too,
However, Liverpool are doing quite decently too,
As far as team selection goes, I guess the only issue is which one between Lallana & Moreno to be retained.

Re: Swansea vs. Liverpool
Mignolet
Can - Skrtel - Sakho
Markovic - Henderson - Allen - Sterling
Lallana - Coutinho
Sturridge
Swansea are a good team at home, we need a good performance to win it. The good news are that they have scored only 10 goals in their last 10 PL games while we have got 20 in our last 10.
They've got really pacey wingers, so this game if any should test the possible vulnerability of using wing-backs. Shelvey and Ki are two fine CMs, but luckily their work-rate isn't that good, we should harass them as much as possible.
Still waiting for a big performance from Sturridge, hopefully we'll see it here.

In Swansea's 4 seasons in the PL so far, we haven't beaten them at the Liberty.

Re: Swansea vs. Liverpool
They are in decent form right now, Would be great to beat them considering the other fixtures being played out in the PL.
They've regressed since they sold Bony. Monk is a good manager though and he's made things stable. They are barely scoring and they fluked that win against United.
Im expecting a draw but it'll be great if we win.

Expecting a bit more from the lads in the final third for this one. Should definitely get a result regardless.

Re: Swansea vs. Liverpool
Expecting a much more aggressive performance after 8 days of rest. early goal will be great. should target Shelvey's lack of tactical discipline...Gomis is wank and Siggurdsson been off form, so with our stellar defense we should be fine.
but then again..I don't get why we need to even show up...I heard somewhere that Monk throws game on purpose for his old mate Brendan...someone ring the FA and tell them that !!!!

Re: Swansea vs. Liverpool
If Gomis starts, maybe Skrtel could take yet another blow to the head and knock Gomis out early on, so they'd have to play one of their absolute scrubs as striker. I don't even know who their striker options after Gomis are. I know Emnes, but he's more a winger as far as I know. This is actually a great plan, someone email RG that he'll email Brendan.

Re: Swansea vs. Liverpool
Have you guys seen any Swansea games recently? How do they play!!! I suppose they will try to contain us and hit on the break.

Nah, they're more a possession side than a counter-attacking side.

Do you guys feel a bit weird during this 'long' break? I keep thinking that, there must have been a game and I have missed that.

Re: Swansea vs. Liverpool
Allen, Gerrard, Sakho and Flano back for this. Good stuff.
I guess that leaves Lucas, Jones, Ibe and Enrique on the injury table.

Re: Swansea vs. Liverpool
What, Flano is back and available?
I started to think that wouldn't happen this season.
Not that he's going to play unless we're winning, but nice news, still.

Yeah, Allen has to start at CM. Can has to finish this season at RCB sadly.

Re: Swansea vs. Liverpool
It's a must win really to keep the pressure on the other 3 above us.
Please just WIN. PLEASE.
I will be able to watch the first 30 minutes of the first half and the last 20 minutes of the second half.
I have a class right smack in the middle of the match. I'll have my laptop on with the stream running but don't know if I can pay attention to the match as it's an exam review lecture and I haven't really gone to class much and the exam is on Wednesday
Lucas should be ready for United, he's already training. but for this, definitely Allen should start at CM as he's been in good form.

Re: Swansea vs. Liverpool
I wouldn't put it down as must win, if we lose tonight, but beat United in the weekend, we'll still be just two points behind United. But a win would be huge, going into the United game with a chance to overtake them for fourth would be amazing.
I'm nervous about this one, Shelvey is going to score, I can feel it, hopefully it'll be in their net again, though.

Re: Swansea vs. Liverpool
There are fewer and fewer matches left. I think it's time we leapfrog United. It's inevitable that we will also lose important points in the next 10 matches as will they. But it would be insane to bank on some sort of a 7 or 8 or 9 game winning streak to jump ahead of them at the end.
It my book it is a must win just because it lets us to grow the distance between ourselves and the pretenders (Spurs and Soton). And puts 1 games distance away from United, Arsenal and even City (two of whom we'll be playing next and they will super tough matches).

Having said that I have a terribly awful feeling that this will be a draw. God, I hope we win it by all means.
