Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 4
Heil mate I promise you it's so good. Just get over the first half of season 1. They're introducing what's happening in the world with the Pattern. But it gets sooo good.
Walter is in the conversation for one of the best TV characters of all time as well. What a goat.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 4
New show coming out this year. Next BB?
Based on best-selling book La Reina Del Sur by Arturo Pérez-Reverte, Queen Of The South tells the story of Teresa Mendoza (Alice Braga). When her drug-dealing boyfriend is unexpectedly murdered in Mexico, Teresa is forced to go on the run and seek refuge in America, where she teams with an unlikely figure from her past to bring down the leader of the very drug trafficking ring that has her on the run. In the process, she learns the tools of the trade and strategically positions herself to become the leader of the Cartel. M.A. Fortin and Joshua John Miller (The Final Girls) wrote the pilot and are executive producing with David Friendly (Little Miss Sunshine) and Pancho Mansfield (Damien). Charlotte Sieling directed the pilot.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 4
Been enjoying The Expanse a lot. I like the vibe, I like the scope of the story.
A bit rushed and confusingly narrated, but I still thought it was very good. Got the last 3 episodes ready to watch in one go, let's see.
Also, to the people who liked Mr Robot (I didn't so much, I thought it became worse and worse until it turned out to be a bad Fight Club fanboy thing), I started to watch the Magicians which I like a lot so far (even if it's not perfectly executed either), and funnily I see a lot of connections to Mr Robot.
Not a first glance, but if you think about it... would be curious if anyone who's watching it feels similar, or not.

Can imagine Vinyl being one of those slow paced HBO shows.

No, new show by the Boardwalk Empire crew based on the 70s music scene.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 4
Reviews for tv shows are often shit. They base it off like 2-3 episodes. Like basing a movie review on the first 20 minutes. Doesn't make sense. Especially the ones on metacritic who doesn't differentiate.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 4
Just finished the last episode of Black Mirror ... i'm speechless.
From most to least favorite episode:
White Christmas
Be Right Back
Entire History of You
Fifteen Million Merits
The Waldo Moment (Am i the only one who feels Waldo is supposed to portray Donald Trump and his rise in politics ?)
The National Anthem (The plot was so silly and gross, this shouldn't have been the first episode.)
White Bear (I thought the story was a bit contrived and unrealistic.)

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 4
Most if not all episodes are 9.5/10 tbh. Hard to rank them
Waldo moment was the weakest episode but a solid 8.5
Not sure why you say White Bear felt unrealistic. Most episodes are satire and based on surrealism

There's unrealistic and then there's too unrealistic, i just can't imagine that one day our society could get to that point, where we would punish criminals in such torturous ways.
The idea of excessive punishments in justice systems was included in two episodes, White Bear and White Christmas, i think the latter did a better job at presenting it.
I should add that i was a bit distracted while watching this episode, maybe i missed some important parts so need to rewatch it again.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 4
White Christmas was type of a homage to all episodes. It had references to all of them, and the story was a combination of Entire History Of You and White Bear. Its a top 2 episode for me. Amazing acting by Don Draper and Talisa Stark.
