Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 4
MJ wrote:Any great, finished tv shows out there (that, obviously, didn't get canceled) that anyone wants to recommend?
I've watched the Sopranos, the Wire, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, Mad Men, Lost, Californication, the Newsroom among other highly critically acclaimed shows.
Currently watching Supernatural, Walking Dead, House of Cards.
Was thinking of watching Oz, the Shield, West Wing, or starting Game of Thrones or Peaky Blinders but I want something that's done. Any suggestions?
Band Of Brothers, The Pacific, Generation Kill. HBO's trifecta of war miniseries.
The Shield, Justified, Six Feet Under, Oz, House Of Cards (UK), Boardwalk Empire are all great shows thats done.

Thanks for the suggestions @M99
Open to anything, my faves are the ones I've mentioned watching like the Sopranos, by far and away the best series I've watched.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 4
Those were good suggestions from M69.
Since you only want shows that are done, I'll add to that Dexter, Rome, The West Wing, Banshee, and Hannibal. Also, you might want to try True Detective and Fargo. Even though they are ongoing, every season tells a different story with different characters so they are more like yearly miniseries.

lol looked up Cassidy expecting hot piece of ass, turns out it's a man.
Gonna get on Preacher after a few more episodes or after the first season. Need to see if it gets more hype.

Anybody following Gotham? I know Nolan and Bale have ruined us for others but this series surprisingly is really growing on me especially The Penguin character. Also am going to say it in hush voice that Monaghan might be the best joker I have seen including Nicholson and Ledger
Lucifer- The Last Cat Hater.

Anyone following Orange is the New Black. New season's out. Lately the show's been poor though. Hope they can salvage it.

Good to know. I have reached episode 09 in a day and a half. Looks much better than that horrorshow of a 3rd season easily. Let's see how the last 4 episodes go.

Billed as the next 'game of thrones' A new HBO series. Probably replacing True Detective's slot.
Looks interesting. JJ Abraham and Jonathan Nolan are the executive producers.

Has Jonathan Nolan written this. Looks their kind of shit.
Btw why is it called the next GoT ? Just for the grandness of the scale ? Looks like an expensive tv show for sure.

According to wikipedia, Jon Nolan will be directing and co-writing alongside someone named Lisa Joy

I'd recommend starting on Justified. Fargo is great but watch it later.
