lmao I didn't actually watch it for Arnie but he was probably the best part of it. I just love prison movies.

Arnie is one of my GOATs. No shame in admitting :coffee:

The story is over after No. 2. The studio wanted FFC to make another one because they had no big movie lined up for the upcoming summer, so FFC pulled something extra out and tacked it on to the end of The Godfather Part 2.

Yeah you usually need that crappy, entertaining B-class Hollywood movie in between when you are on a classic stretch. Laughing

Those are two ridiculously great suggestions the lads gave you above. Thumbs up
Remember the discussion we had on here when I raved about Heat when I saw it last year, and a few people got jelly and said I overreacted Laughing
Collateral is just pure ruthless Cruise, it is also usually considered the prime digital film from the 00s.

RG pls

No Country For Old Men is the last GOAT movie made IMO

amazing movie

elitedam wrote:The Korean Oldboy is great.

don't think I have but I have however seen numerous movies with the main actor in them, went on a korean spree a couple of years back

some I can recommend as being quality;

The Chaser (great)
a Bittersweet life (great)
I saw the Devil (good)
the yellow sea (great)
a dirty carnival (amazing)
The New World (great)

all of them are up there with the best crime thrillers made in hollywood in the last 15 years IMO

Just watched "Last Exit Reno". Was a bit boring. Was still worth it for a young Brittany Murphy doe.

I thought it was unnecessarily slow and meandering with a severe lack of substance. The acting was good and the film had an interesting style of cinematography. However, it lacked tension, suspense and all of the characters felt underdone. I didn't care about any of them. It was interesting to watch once, but it's not something that I have the urge to see again.

Watched The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy and it was quite good. I preferred Daniel Craig's version of Blomkvist and Noomi Rapace's version of Lisbeth although Rooney Mara played the part quite well. Overall, it was one of the better sets of movies I've seen in recent time and is worth a watch.

Definitely enjoyed No Country for Old Men and would recommend it to people, but I personally found it somewhat overhyped. I don't necessarily agree with Forza about lacking suspense or tension, but I do agree about the characters feeling underdone, and the story to me wasn't really compelling. Javier Bardem's performance was incredible as well. It's been a while since I've seen it though, and I've never rewatched it, so perhaps I would change my opinion upon a second watch but...I thought it was an enjoyable movie, probably not picture of the year, and taking into account, say, the last decade of movies...it's not near the top for me.

Watched Straight Outta Compton.

Holy shit. Probably the best movie I have watched this year. Can't decide between this and Mad Max. All the actors were on point. The time when NWA was on their prime was definitely the best part of the movie but still, as a movie I don't really have any complaints on it. As someone who is looking out for historical accuracy, they cut out some important parts like Ren and Yella's career, Dre/Eazy-E feud, Dre hitting Dee Barnes and shit. It is understandable, it is impossible to cover everything. Heard the director's cut of the movie is one hour longer, really hope it's released. Recommended to all film fans, I went with some people who don't really give two shits about hip hop and they really got into the movie and agreed it was pretty great.

Inside Out finally arrived. Absolutely mesmerizing. I can't express how much I loved this one. Can't remember the last time I cried in a cinema.

This really hit home and showed what growing up really feels like. Kind of how I wished Boyhood had done more.
