LVG can't be blamed for us not winning. WHat else can he do bar actually teach the players to finish from 5 m out?! the players are awful, plain and simple. We need a massive squad overhaul

Re: Manchester United 2015/2016 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
We either attack and have a defence that goes to shit
or
be negative ultra defensive but have zero threat in attack.
We just dropped points( 4 overall this season) to a relegation threatened team, that lost 4 on the bounce prior to this match and couldn't even buy a goal( same can be said for us in terms of goals)....we managed to score 3 bloody goals, and we still didn't win.
summarizes just how dung this campaign has become and heading further into.
Fellaini- sick and tired of this buffoon squandering piss easy goal scoring chances
Lingard- well taken goal, but he really should have buried that chance in the 2nd half.
Rooney- no complaints from me towards him today. was MOTM. wonderful strike for our 3rd.
Smalling was horrendous. I'll cut him some slack though.
Just a testament to how our performances are sinking. We played 3 struggling teams in a row in the league, drew twice, and scraped a win.
6 wins out of 20 now. Abysmal.

We and Liverpool are struggling with the same problems; Poor defenses and under performing attack. I expect an exciting game due to the weak defenses and 'pool won't be sitting back and allowing us to dominate the game.
It would be hard to predict a result, but they're playing at home and have an advantage.

Play the team above and we will win this.
Klopp's tactics for big games is fairly straightforward. He lets the opposition have the ball throughout and then breaks with pace and purpose. Man City match for eg. And Interestingly its also been our thing this season, the whole possession stuff. So have the possibility of canceling out each other.
Then The fact that this game is at Anfield actually suits us more than them tbh. Playing at home he wont be able to play counterattack that much as their fans wont allow it. So as much as i fear a high pressing gung-ho livpool i guess i fear a counterattacking one slightly more. So the most important part from our point of view would be to keep things tight for the 1st 20 mins. If we can survive that supposed onslaught, we will get a result tomorrow.

3 points after the worst utd performance I've ever seen. No game plan other than hoof ball.
Lvg is one lucky manager. Rooney just papered the gaping hole for him.
Rooney and de gea were brilliant.
Best way to beat those motherf****** haha. One shot on target and its the winner. Love it.

Re: Manchester United 2015/2016 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
I don't think there was no game plan, just Liverpool pressed relentlessly like maniacs the entire game. and going direct is a way to avoid it.
just because we didn't have possession and pin them back doesn't mean there was no game plan, Liverpool just executed there pressing extremely well
and early in the game when we were playing higher up and keeping possession Liverpool kept hitting us on the counter dangerously.

I agree with B Mac that there indeed was a plan in place especially since HT.
But that doesnt mean lvg outdid his opposite number today. We got the rub of the green and much deserved too after last match result i guess.
Anyway always great to beat them lot and extra special feeling to beat flopp.

RED its is clear you are deluded. There is no quality in the squad. We arent playing any worse than our title winning season. Only difference is we had the best striker in the league who won us games that we should have lost drawn.
No game plan?

Re: Manchester United 2015/2016 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
So resorting to hoof ball is considered a gameplan? It's route one basic shyte that you'd find in league 3 or sunday league football at best. We're Man United! ffs they weren't even pressing us that much, not to the point where we were struggling to get to grips with the match. But our players at the slightest indication would punt it up field to Rooney or Martial, bypassing that huge gaping hole in the middle of the park. Our players were all over the pitch that 1st half, out of position, no cohesion and generally looking like they didn't know what they were doing.
The fact is we have De Gea to thank yet again, that and the fact Liverpool can't score to save their lives. Their team is beyond average, yet we only managed one shot on target and thankfully it was enough to seal the win.
I don't want to come across all miserable and moany, because any type of win against the scouse is most certainly welcomed.
And Jibers, I'm deluded? Mate you're deluded for continously burying your head in the sand and blaming the players when you can't see the broader picture to all our problems, stemming from our manager, right up to the broad. And why do you keep referring back to our title winning season, yh we played shit most of the time, but good came out of it, at least that was something compared to what we're witnessing week after week now.
One big credit i give LVG is his record against Liverpool. Fair play. It's brilliant.

Re: Manchester United 2015/2016 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
yes going direct is a gameplan that is used against high press teams. we don't have *bleep* Iniesta and prime Xavi in our midfield, you can't play on the pitch all the time, sometimes you have to adapt to what your opponent gives you. Liverpool were well drilled in there press and we went direct to cope with it. Fellaini ain't gonna start playing *bleep* tiki taka ffs.
you want Champagne football all the time, you end up like Arsenal. Unable to adapt and cope and forever the bridesmaid.
yes there are issues with the way we play, we see it week in and week out. but today we came up against a well drilled team with a bit of quality, and we adapted and nicked a win away from home at a hostile ground. 3pts and move on, it's the lesser likes we have to start showing massive improvements against in breaking them down when they are just sitting back.

I'm sorry but Carrick has to be our #6 (DM). Literally the only mf player we have that can break a line with his passing. He came on and played 3 dangerous balls. We created chances and opportunities like we usually do but again the final touch let us down.

Re: Manchester United 2015/2016 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
Carrick has been one of our worst performers this season. I agree he is our only mf who passes (or who is allowed to pass) the ball forward and can actually find a man on a consistent basis. But apart from that all his aspects of the game like for eg, his positioning and shielding the back 4 has been really terrible this season, whenever he has played.
With Blind playing in CB we dont really need a deep lying playmaker especially if that player is not that good, so a ball winner would suffice, hence Schneiderlin. The ballplaying CB Blind can provide those forward balls equally well.
The problem with our mf right now is that it seems lvg has restricted both herrera and Bastian's forward play. Has literally taken the risk element from their game and both, especially Ander is only passing the ball sideways and backswards now sadly. Thats why when someone comes and does that, i mean put a great ball forward, we suddenly feel elated.
