Man Utd V Liverpool Dec 23rd

Take out Villa and Newcastle (depends in what form they're in) and look at our March and April Second last game vs Arsenal might be a top 4 decider.
Much easier first 5 than last year, though.

Re: Manchester United 2014/2015 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
valencia is going nowhere I reckon. they wouldnt have put him on that poster else. Btw is it an official poster or some fan made one ?
I hope in that case we get rid of at least young ... ohhhhhh....
and yea then coming to topic, its an interesting match schedule. But If you ask me I would have said that first 5 games should have been a little more tougher and should have had at least chelsea in that.
Now eventhough they are pretty weaker teams comparatively, for LvG they would be surely unknown quantities and he may take some time to get used to the league first up. So realistically speaking I would have preferred dropping points against big teams rather than weaker ones and hence IMHO matches vs these weaker teams should have come 'later' and not so fast. but then again In King Louis we trust

Nah, those pictures don't mean anything. Valencia could still leave.

The first 5 opening fixtures
I have no complaints about the fixture list. All the tough games are evenly spread out.
No Europe.
Let's do this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I retract my comment about the evenly spread out big fixtures. I've just seen our March and April fixtures....

hopefully by that time we will have taken care of business with the scrub teams.
honestly after watching LVG destroy spain with a bunch of Erdevisie kids...I am extremely optimistic.

Yeah, hopefully we're comfortably in the top 4 by that point. We also have a week to prepare and games during that time of the year sometimes get moved because of FA Cup/CL.

Very easy start.
However you should be aware that new van Gaal teams tend to be slow starters.
For example we started his first season under him with 2 draws and then a loss to Mainz, and had only 12 points after 8 games.
We went on to win the league, but still that's something you might have to be prepared for.

Is it too soon to make separate threads for each matchdays rather than one single thread?

So many early kick offs. grr

Yep. Don't have to wait too long that day. 16 Aug can't come quick enough. Hopefully we'll have a few exciting signings starting for us that day

Ashley Young to be van Gaal's new Schweinsteiger
On a more serious note, reports say van Gaal wants two new CM's instead of one now due to Carrick's injury.

Re: Manchester United 2014/2015 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
rb we can promote within may be. Janko ?? and assuming LvG will deploy his world cup formation 3-5-2 once in a while. there are players who can play that wing back role decently in the squad itself I guess. also valencia resigning has a lot to do with providing back up to rafael i reckon.
cb btw is a must. we are seriously lacking depth there. I am surprised we havent signed one already as a matter of fact.
cm too is mandatory true. and cm we will sign someone to partner herrera I am confident.
added with that depay and one more young promising winger. and we will be ready I guess.

Re: Manchester United 2014/2015 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
Yeah, I think Lumiere is right, we're are not getting a back-up RB. We brought two young LBs to back up Shaw, on the tour, with no genuine RB to back up Rafael, despite us having some prospects there: Varela, Vermijl and Janko.
Which means Valencia will probably back him up, only way I see Valencia fitting into the team actually, since he doesn't fit in the van Gaal type winger he likes his right-footed wingers to play on the left and vice versa. Depay and Robben, being examples.

Re: Manchester United 2014/2015 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
who is the best of that 3 btw. ? varela, vermijil or janko ? who is most likely to be inducted into the first team first ?
considering vemrijil and varela are 22 and 21 respectively. they need to be near the first team sooner than later if they are to be prospects for the future.
janko of course is younger and i have heard is a serious talent yea may be its between the first two then taking into account their ages.
p.s who are the back ups to shaw BB ? young lb s you mentioned we are taking? sorry for being ignorant.
