Re: Manchester United 2015/2016 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
Still crap lineup imo.
Dont want to say this, but if we lose we should lose in such a way that all his so called 'wise' decisions (Like Blind at cb, memphis at the hole, 2 DMs ) all underperform. Sooner lvg realizes he is massively wrong in his team selection greater it is for the club going forward.
But having said that hope we will win with Darmian and Shaw excelling most.
Happy for Smalling too.
Come on United!

How is it that Spurs played 2 friendlies since our PSG game and yet look sharper and fitter than us.
We've slightly improved since taking the lead, taken control of the game.
Memphis and Darmian
Romero is making me sweat profusely with his laksadaisical demeanor when recieving the ball. Already fluffed 2 or 3 kick outs.
Carrick and Schneiderlin are too alike at the centre. Far too deep from Memphis, leaving a big gap in the centre for Spurs to overrun us.
We need another goal or 2 in the 2nd half as I don't trust us to keep a clean sheet.

Re: Manchester United 2015/2016 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
Exactly. Individually players havent done much wrong in this match barring may be Blind and Romero all have played well. Any man with some footballing knowledge can see the fault is with the system and not with the players we have.
Employing 2 DMs in a home match against an opposition that literally has no midfield and still only leading by a fluke goal at halftime is nothing to be proud of. If Spuds improve in the 2nd half even little we will be in for trouble. They have been horrendous so far luckily for us.
Darmian already showing what we missed these last couple of years in right back position.

Cramps galore towards the end.
3 points!! All that matters.
Darmian and Smalling were both excellent.

Re: Manchester United 2015/2016 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
Smalling and Darmian were both fantastic.
A double pivote is not good enough especially the way we build up. We need to play 3 cms and then play Memphis as a LW.
.........Morgan....
...Herrera....Bastian....
^^^ that makes far more sense as Basti bombs forward a lot and Herrera can link up with Mata. With the 4231 Rooney and Mata especially were forced to drop deep and inside too often to create superiority in mf. Once we switched to 433 we looked. Rooney has regressed so much it's unbelievable to watch. That should have been his goal.

made the same point pretty much in the General discussion thread.
4-3-3 is a must, Morgan and Carrick is to stagnant, Herrera gets the tempo going

Re: Manchester United 2015/2016 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
Yeah. Herrera needs to play to provide that link between attack and MF.
We look completely toothless up front, had our first shot on target in the 60 something minute. And our defending looked shakey towards the end, primarily when Darmian went off, although Smalling played very well.
Lucky for us Spurs were even more awful to capitalize.
We have 3 weeks left in the window to get another striker, defender, sort out the GK situation and get a wide forward.
A lot of work still to be done despite spending so much.

Right now I will put Carrick ahead of Bastian. Morgan and Herrera ahead of him. Schweini is clearly not up there fully. Him coming on in place of carrick was partly a reason why we couldnt hold on and dictate the game towards the end. He should only be eased in to the league IMO.

Darmian looks to be an absolute steal this transfer. Hopefully no injuries or inconsistency in the future

Re: Manchester United 2015/2016 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
Absolute shit on a stick football from United once again.
But hey, we're leading. Yaaaay!! Philosophy!!
And seeing Rooney attempt to play football is painful. That guy is finished.
Forget the defense, spend the rest of the budget on a top class striker. I dread the thought of relying on Rooney to score us goals.
Again we look like we can't create any chance. Depending on efficient finishing, like Adnan's well taken goal.
Needs to improve 2nd half, but I'm not holding my breath.

Re: Manchester United 2015/2016 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
We're a dull team to watch. But 3 points while we hopefully improve should be promising.
Another clean sheet.
Darmian and Smalling excellent again. Blind had a very good game too tbf to him.
Schweinstiger and Herrera's introduction allowed us to control the game in Villa's half. Surely Herrera should be starting after that? Schweini looks a bit unfit still, but he showed his assureness on the ball. We looked better as Villa started to tire.
Memphis looked out of sorts, should have buried that chance.
Mata had a poor game imo. Apart from his assist, he wasn't his normal self.
As For our supposed captain- what a disgraceful performance. Truly dreadful. If LVG has anything about him, he will drop him after that performance. It's becoming a common occurrence.

Re: Manchester United 2015/2016 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
We are becoming a chelsea Chelsea without hazard and costa probably will play the same way as we right now and get identical results.
Anyway 3 points is always welcome and will come good at the business end. So ya will take it.
Glad he started Adnan and put Mempy in his natural position at least. Thats a start.
Need to make at least 2 more changes to the final 11 before we can conclude we really lack quality or for that matter know whether we do or not. If it happens gradually then ok.

Re: Manchester United 2015/2016 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
We didn't look good, but like you guys said, 3 points are very important and I am happy that we took 'em.
Still, there are many things to improve. Especially the transition between the lines. Players need to be more concentrated on giving through passes even if it is riskier. More creativity will lead to more goal attempts and probably more goals. We can't be creative if our players are very static and during the past two games we barely saw some support runs in the midfield or attack.
More dynamism, more creativity in the midfield, more distance shots. We need to improve these...if not, we will continute to look like a mid table team with no ambition to win anything.
Both Spurs and Villa games were amazingly boring. Nothing interesting to see, nothing spectacular. This is not what Man United has to be.
Defensively speaking we looked good. Not very strong, but decent enough to congratulate the team for getting two nice clean sheets in the first two games of the season.

None taken bruh,
We all are pretty aware I believe that United are pretty dire (to watch) right now and king Louis is holding us back with his stand and pass all day along football.
But then if its for a better tomorrow as its been said , may be we should be patient with him and wait before criticizing him. Still we bash him here pretty much on a consistent basis nowadays lol mostly for his stupid team selections though.

None take, it's the truth.
3 points is the only thing masking my extreme annoyance of it, but even then I find myself bored and frustrated after some wins.
Would love to see some of the Utd players be brave and play a forward pass through on goal like Mata did for the Memphis chance, quick tempo passing, try to beat a player one on one, less of the pass backs and side to side slow pedestrian passing but they seem to be instructed to play it always safe.

Re: Manchester United 2015/2016 Premier League Season (+ CC & FA Cup)
there is no off the ball movement, and when there is they take the sideways/back pass instead
hopefully it's just chemistry thing as there are a bunch of new players in the team, it took a while for us to get going last season too hopefully we get it together sooner rather then later and keep collecting 3 pts
Memphis looked like he was trying to force a lot of stuff not playing on instinct.
3 man midfield needs to happen and Herrera needs to be in it.

Started off with good attacking pace, Memphis getting into good positions, but final ball is poor.
We tailed off towards the end of the half, many players looking tired.
Memphis had a bad half. Needs to know when to pass the ball instead of trying to score. Selfish.

Our attack is pitiful, spearheaded by a striker who is finished at this level.
Just go and throw money on attacking players who will improve us.
Sh*t.
