this is retarded ffs

seems like they just wanted to one up themselves in terms of being super hard, unreal gimmicks, enemy placements, etc

literally everywhere you go there are 3-4 unreal enemies in groups

good stuff so far; first boss was fairly epic, bloodborne style, picking up tons of items but haven't really used any of them yet, some of the regular enemies are really cool fights

bad; environments are pretty bland besides a few aesthetics with architecture, gimmicks in the area, enemy placements

I saw ppl saying there's an optional boss in this DLC and their +10 weapon didn't even register it's damage when attacking lol, can see it being ridiculous

it's interesting but not really tying things up yet, that said I haven't gotten that far into it , a lot of callbacks to events from DS1 but it's very cryptic, also stuff that completely contradicts (purposely) things people believed from the first game. Seen a few throwbacks to DS2 too. Gonna take a break now, played for a solid 3 hours and didn't find anything but 1 boss and 1 mini boss, I did hear it's double the size of the first DLC.

Also you will want to stay embered everywhere because I've fought at least 5 NPC invaders that drop cool items, and I haven't been embered all the time

hmm..I think I'm on the final boss. I read a few weeks back there would be 4 bosses in the DLC. I'm on the third but the 4th I think I've come across and it's optional so I ran from it to fight later.

I only had 8 estus but got this boss to about half HP fighting sloppy, shouldn't be too hard

100% see orphan of kos comparisons, I think the moveset is very similar in fact

not sure how I feel though unless we get some answers after this boss, as a DLC it's pretty cool but as a wrap up for this series nah

second boss was an absolute pos playing online btw, not even gonna lie because of how unfair it is I summoned not one person but 2 ppl and still failed it a few times, re-uses an old gimmick from previous games but much more unfair in the bosses favor so I didn't mind summoning.

lol the boss is legit a re-skinned orphan of kos

also his attack box is insanely broken, I can dodge everything in the first part except 1 attack that hits me no matter what smh

got it to like 25% second attempt

Sounds disappointing. Both the size and that it is not closing up on the series. Inb4 Miyazaki says it's all wrapped up and we just need to connect the dots.

But 4 bosses at least which is nice.

0 chance I am summoning someone. But I can't wait for it ffs. Hopefully done with Horizon by tomorrow and then I'll jump on it.

beat it third attempt solo, helped that I remember how to fight Kos, got lucky though I had 0 estus left and had to use divine blessings lol.

will try optional tomorrow, not even sure how to get to it, I know I've missed an NPC questline, I've been really thorough playing so idk how I missed it, sure I missed a bunch of other secrets too

1st boss is just an insane endurance test, had to basically hit once and run away for like 15 mins smh
2nd boss super gimmicky and difficulty will vary person to person
3rd boss was pretty epic but not sure how I feel about it being canonically the final boss to the series I guess? although I imagine they will continue

apparently this optional boss is insane though, keep reading how people are doing like no damage a hit on it.. can see it being chalice dungeon level 20 mins or something smh

game threw a few slabs at me in this final DLC so Im gonna go and +10 some of the ones I picked up in this, they look really cool

not that I've seen

I still have more secrets to find and a few NPC's spoke really cryptically but like I said, it really doesn't wrap up much of this series..lots of things left unanswered, well, the big thing we all wanted to know about anyway..really annoyed nothing was touched on about one of the biggest things in the Dark Souls universe, although there are statues of reverence from them in this DLC

Actually now you mention it one NPC does cryptically mention a few characters and I think they were Aldia and Vendrick, didn't mention them by name but it fits

tried fighting the optional secret boss, got it down to like 70% first try with 9 estus left but you're fighting the camera as much as you are the boss ffs, gonna be tough he takes little damage

anyway DLC was decent, not as good as DS1 DLC or anywhere close to BB DLC, man, as much as I enjoy DS3 and the Souls series in general (that first PT of DS1 was amazing for me) I do think Bloodborne is the best game they've made by quite a ways, unreal boss fights, aesthetic, gameplay, etc

really hope we get a sequel some day

Also the path to the optional boss kinda cleared up a complaint I had with the DLC story and closure, although it felt shoehorned in, can't wait for your thoughts when you FINALLY finish Horizon ffs

how far into that are you now? lol, been smashing it for weeks

Unfortunately never played it. Firenze and Versacci loved it though.

Hopefully they remaster it along with DS1 at some point.

wouldn't say I loved it, I played it and it was good, but it's the worst game in the series IMO.

I played it after Dark Souls 1 though, I see a lot of people saying they rate it as their favorite because it was their first experience with a Souls game though. Which is fair,

Kinda like how Bloodborne will always remain my favourite although it's probably the best of the soulsborne series in any case
