That Uncharted trailer looked amazing. They definitely took destructible environments to a completely new level with that game, lol.

Going to ruin that game. Hopefully they don't add voice overs.

be prepared for turn based though if you are getting it.

That explains why PES can do option files now, can actually share mp3 and jpeg files among other usual shit.

What is hype may never hype

It is true

Just hoping they don't re-invent the battle system to appease the new fans. Hopefully it's same as before.

Welp, fell asleep for an hour there. Went through Reddit and saw I didn't miss anything except the Uncharted 4 demo, so nothing important happened when I was asleep.

It was a good conference, though the Shenmue 3 Kickstarter portion killed me. Old man came on stage begging for money ffs, what was the point of that? rofl

Nintendo is later today right? Around 5pm I think. Then the PC Gaming Show at 1am, oh yeah! But first, time for bed.

RealGunner wrote:Never played Shenmue but it's really hyped by every old gamer. Is it that good?

To understand Shenmue and fully appreciate it proper context is necessary.

Sega really believed that they needed a game changer, a flag ship game for their new console that would carry them past all the mistakes of the mid 90s and reimagine their image for the next generation.

So they gave their most prestigious developer, Yu Suzuki a blank check and full creative control to make a next generation project. The first two Shenmue games cost over $80m to make, which was insanely unprecedented.. Absolutely nothing would come close to that sort of budget till GTA4 in 08 passed it.

I could go into detail about the game but essentially what made it special is that when it comes to large big budget games, they normally are focused, tried and tested genres, concepts or ideas. You normally only get large budgets if whoever is funding you knows the game you are making is good for returns and will appeal to the lowest common denominator.

However Shenmue is different in that there really are no games that operate in unique or obtuse manors with such high production value and attention to detail. Like even 15 years later you can feel the high production value and work that went into the first two games. The things they focused on or tried even today nobody bothers with. I know people say this about games a lot but there really is nothing like it. Shenmue is really a series that's hard to describe or explain why it works. I think because of the series and its history it's one everyone should play because it's just that unique and if you get it, there are very few games series that will stick with over the years like Shenmue. Even if you never played it before it's still something that I feel holds up and is worth experiencing

Sony already won E3 as soon as they began with The Last Guardian. GL hating on it because it does not have blood and gore Laughing The last time the developers made a game, they made what is widely regarded the greatest PS2 game of all time Laughing

THEN THEY GO OUT AND REVEAL *bleep* SHENMUE 3. No way to top that possibly.

NOPE HERES THE *bleep* FF7 REMAKE YOU ALL WANTED

Not even mad at no God Of War. Sony

Really looking forward to Shenmue. Friend would hype it back in the mid 2000's but I never got to play it. Somewhat skeptical as I imagine a current gen Shenmue would cost 100+ million to fully realize without compromise IMO hmm

from what I know, RG, it was an open world action adventure set in either modern Japan or China, with like martial arts/street fighting and an interesting story with a ridiculous attention to detail, like you could interact with things in the world that most developers would find a novelty.

Never played it though so these are just limited observations. Almost looks like the current Yakuza series.

Just so happy about The Last Guardian. The only people that can't be are those that haven't played Shadow of the Colossus and to a lesser extent ICO from the developers. I used to hear how they were GOAT and thought they looked meh untill I played them on my PS3 a couple of years back.

the next 18 months can be GOAT.

Metal Gear
The Last Guardian
Dark Souls 3
Final Fantasy 15
FIFA 16/17 E3 2015 - Page 30 5I5s8
Horizon (?)
No Man's Sky (still not fully sold on this but it looks visually GOAT)
Fallout 4

jesus f'n christ

Then you have stuff like Halo 5, Zelda, Gears of War.

Will buy a Wii U for Zelda and an XBOX for Gears

No Man's Sky will have a serious case of overpromise->underdeliver imo (Although i hope that doesn't happen and it does well)

Also, don't forget Uncharted, ME, Dishonored 2, Fallout 4, Persona 5, Gear of War, and Kingdom Hearts 3 ^^

Insane lineup for next 18 months

Looks great to me, looks like the old fashioned puzzle adventure games I grew up. Which are always so much better to play than they look to watch.

Backwards compatibility is a huge plus for Xbox One and it may give me reason to use mine other than for a cable box.

Wish PS4 would do this and ditch the BS that is PS Now or at least implement a way to to not have to pay for games I already own. That way I can play my huge PS Plus library of games that are for PS3 that I got for free.
