2015 F1 Thread
Alonso is set to miss the Australian GP due to an injury suffered in testing.
Is anyone going to stop Lewis this year? Is Vettel going to succeed at Ferrari? Will Ricciardo step up in Vettel's absence? Can McLaren return to winning ways?
So many questions, they will all be answered over the coming year.
I really look forward to this season.

On paper it's interesting, how will McLaren, Red Bull, Ferrari and even Williams do, Alonso and Vettel at new teams, Hamilton v Rosberg and is Mercedes in a class of its own again, can Ricciardo continue his fantastic drives from last year... But I'm afraid the actual races could be pretty boring still.

Indeed.
Honestly though, I just want a bit of competition, even if it is just between two teams.

Rumours that some teams are threatening to boycott the season opener next weekend over lack of details about Alonso's crash
I didn't know this, but a Finnish site is saying McLaren's explanation for the crash was a gust of wind? While there are rumours that Alonso could have actually gotten a 600 voltage electric shock from the car's hybrid or whatever system

Random website that just came up on Google wrote:Sport Bild reports several teams are considering pulling out of the Australian round due to safety fears based on the car's new hybrid technology.
"They said teams fear speculation that Alonso was rendered unconscious by an electric shock from the sport's controversial hybrid technology may be true," Bild reported.

Alonso woke up in 1995 apparently. Thinking he wass still a go-kart driver with dreams of becoming a F1 champion one day.

^ Yeah, it said that in the Random Website article, it was well funny (since he got his memory back later) x)
Also a bit scary how you could forget 20 years of your life just like that. A weird thing, our brain.
I don't know whether Schumacher remembers anything, at least initially when he was coming around he didn't. Then again his accident was obviously way more serious.
Anyway, I hope the electric shock claim gets verified either way asap. If it's true, it's quite, ermm, shocking how they could put such a dangerous and under-tested system in any vehicle, let alone in one that goes 300km/h. If it's not true they should just get to the bottom of the incident and clear everything out, so no teams will be boycotting any races.

They'll have to sort it out fast if it does become a problem.

No boycotting the first race, thankfully.
If the times from the first qualifying of the season are anything to go by, Mercedes are going to be out of sight again. Also, Alonso must be thinking of skipping the second race, too.

That did look like a good battle throughout Qualifying.

I was trying to get excited about the new season, but that was one boring race right there. I don't know was there a single overtake in the top five or six places (start and pit stops excluded).

Completely agree. This is going to be potentially even more boring than last season.

Re: 2015 F1 Thread
Well to be honest,he left for a chance to win his 3rd WDC.Taking the odd win for Ferrari and eventually coming 2nd,he's been there, done that.
Honda McLaren is still an unknown. When they're able to run the engine at full power I suspect they'll be high on the grid.Their chassis seems fantastic and they're the quickest through the corners.
2016 is the year to judge this move.

Re: 2015 F1 Thread
It didn't even feel like racing among the top-6, just a train rolling from start to finish.
The stewards making a hash of trying to fit Verstappen's car through the whole in the pit wall was the best thing to happen all race. That and Maldonado overshooting his entry to the pit lane.
