Juve 2015/2016 vs Juve 2014/2015
11 consecutive wins now, I think ? They are not as reliant on one player (Pirlo) as they were before. In the past season if you shut down him, you got a good chance to win. They worked out how to deal with Tevez/Vidal/Pirlo gone, it seems too.

You are starting to sound like Madrid fans this time last year, when Madrid were supposedly the reincarnation of saachi's Milan after their win streak.
How about we wait for the end of the season first....
Side note: Dymbala is as good as Nerman imo

Re: Juve 2015/2016 vs Juve 2014/2015
He didn't say Juve is the reincarnation of Sacchi's Milan, nor did he say that they are the best side in Europe. He just wanted to make a comparison between last year's Juve and this year's. There's nothing wrong with that - and I think you missed the point of the whole thread.
Anyway, back on topic. It's really hard to say at this point which side is better. But we'll have a better idea when they play Bayern.

It's tough to say based only on their Serie A form. They're facing Bayern in the CL, if they beat them, maybe the answer is then 'yes'?

Re: Juve 2015/2016 vs Juve 2014/2015
Its early to know, but its a good discussion. Last season I was confident we could beat anyone except for Barca, this one not so much. Our overall play is better but we are not as effective. Also, Pirlo's age showed last season and many thought a midfield of Pogba-Marchisio-Vidal-Pereyra would have been better for the final.
Now we were forced to adapt to a 3-5-2 as our main formation and its looking brilliant. Pogba is even better this year, Marchisio is still great, and Sandro and Cuadrado are good options to mix it up. Last year the only change in gameplan we had was switching to a super defensive 3-5-2. Now we have a bigger threat from the wings if necessary. I love the organization of this team, its more like Conte's. But still, I dont know if Dybala and Mandzukic can be relied on against big teams as Tevez, Vidal and Morata (in the cl) were. If we are not allowed to play our game, which will be the case against Bayern, I don't know i we'll be able to score.
So far juve 14/15 > juve 15/16

I dont think the results of last year will be matched.
But,i believe this squad has more talent than the previous cycle and has the potential to become much better in the longer run.

For this cycle to be better we have to see if Pogba stays, how Dybala turns out and if Berardi comes.
Do you think Morata has a future at Juve?

Regardless if Pogba stays or not,i trust the management to get really good replacements in place. We lost three pillars this year, yet we have managed to cope fine through shrewd buys and calculated 'risks' if you can call it(40m on Dybala for example)
Dybala is already off to a rocking start and i only see an upward curve from here on in.He already contributes much more to our overall play than Tevez did.I think its also fair to say he's been the biggest creative outlet of the side.
Berardi will ofcourse be joining us next summer.I dont exactly rate him as highly as some do but his numbers does speak for itself.First time in yrs we'd have great quality and depth in attack.
On Morata,i always felt like he's a rhythm player.Once he gets going,he will make that CF position his.I do think he'll remain at Juve but not sure how long.I hope that clause is removed though.
And you're right,a lot also depends on some of the potential departures over the coming yrs but we also know we'd be rewarded handsomely if they were to be sold and i have faith in the board to make excellent transfers like they've been doing over the yrs to improve the squad and continue to maintain a high level.
PS. Welcome and please post in the Juve section as well !

Re: Juve 2015/2016 vs Juve 2014/2015
"2nd grade team" sure, if first grade only means Barca and Bayern...
Dybala contributes more than tevez in the build up and midfield play for sure, but Tevez turned on the magic out of nowhere to make things happen more often. Anyway, Dybala has been amazing and probably the best possible Tevez replacement we could have hope for.
I know some don't rate Berardi but he for me looks outstanding. He is not flashy but his effectiveness is ridiculous for a 21 year old. We have to get him at all costs, hopefully its already as wrapped up as it seems.
As you say, I trust the management too, they've been brilliant.
Morata is the only one I don't rate as much as other Juve fans. He has the talent but it feels like his mentality is crap. He has been playing the laziest and "softest" game out any Juve player by far. From Mandzukic to Buffon, all our players fight for every ball, even the bench with Sandro, Cuadrado, Sturaro, etc. Morata is the only one without "grinta". Not sold on him yet.

Re: Juve 2015/2016 vs Juve 2014/2015
Morata was criticized in Madrid because he let the emotions get the best out of him. That's why Jese broke into team before his injury in March 2014 and Morata couldn't get even 10 minutes a game. Besides Jese being a superior talent, he was also great mentally, cold blooded.

I agree he's a bit soft.Afterall,he's coming from a league where players theatrically go down at the smallest contact.
But i dont agree that he's lazy.He does work hard.Infact i think he's trying too hard at the moment.
When you saw the Madrid games last yr, you saw a motivated Morata who was playing like he was 27 and in his prime. And at the time,he was slowly getting into groove as well and settled into the first team(including scoring a scorcher of a winning goal against Palermo in a tough game).
What went against him this year is injury in the early part of the season and once he came back,he was asked to play LW.I think that destroyed his rhythm by a bit.
After that,Dybala and Mandzukic happened to develop a great understanding thus became impossible to bench both which lowered Morata's confidence even further.
You can see in the chances he gets lately,he's trying too hard.Shoot from odd angles or dribbling mindlessly.
Like i said,he needs a goal badly to get going. An in rhythm ,confident Morata could be a very lethal striker going forward. His talent is undeniable to me.And its not like he's a mental midget like Balotelli or other turds.
We need to be patient with Morata imo.

Not this year but i reckon this team will be better in the long term if they keep the key players together.
It's a big if but if they manage it then i see a higher ceiling with this group.

Mate, it is quite clear you dont watch Juventus nor Serie A. You mention Pirlo yet Pirlo wasnt even pivotal last season. You mention how Serie A is a poor league (who is on the verge of overtaking the "best league in the world" Premier League in coefficients) yet this year the league is 10 times harder. Lastly, we reached Group Stages in the group of death, only because our stupid final game we came second.
So please mate, read before you talk. To call juventus 2nd grade is just.....wao

Re: Juve 2015/2016 vs Juve 2014/2015
Wouldn't comparing this side to the 13-14 version be more apt?
Personally, I think that '14 team was unreal and clearly better than this one, which still has vulnerabilities that can be exploited by the right tactics and players.

No team is going to be better next season when they lose players of caliber of Vidal, Tevez and especially second son of God Pirfreakinglo. This team is looking good very good no doubt about it but 2014/15 was much better imo. However if they do happen to knock Bayern which I really do hope then the it would be worth second thought. For now 2014/15 is better one.

Re: Juve 2015/2016 vs Juve 2014/2015
I prefer this Juventus.
Dybala, Khedira, Sandro, Cuadrado, Rugani, Mandzukic, Zaza.
Vidal and Pirlo definitely had their worst seasons as Juventus plays in their last seasons as Juventus players. Tevez is irreplaceable but in my mind he was always a short term signing- he gave two fantastic seasons but with Dybala's form, I'm not unimpressed.
Anyways, the defense and Gigi are as good as ever. Pogba is becoming a more complete player in every way and his chemistry with Dybala is amazing. Cuadrado and Sandro are options that Juventus would have benefited from in years prior.
The only thing lacking from this team is a proper creative central midfielder, now with the 3-5-2, Dybala and the added wing back depth we are making due but long term, that is the signing I would like to see personally. I also think, in these 11 games, this is the best, stylistically, I have seen Juventus play in a long time.
Short version: Dybala is immense, Pogba is a complete player- this Juventus is better.
