this game was great imo, well the second half was fantastic a great work out, remember its pre season, we cant play 100% in all pre season games. but wow i am really impressed with jenkinson and miaychi

Good individual performances, no mess ups (except Vito in the first half, which was their only goal), lots of good possession play in the second half, Wilshere is joined in the awesome league by Ramsey, Jenkinson and Miyachi, Walcott talks about wanting to play center but misses a hundred chances (okay maybe 10), Chamakh shoots thrice down their GK's throat.. And thats about it..

That could have gone better, but remember it is just preseason. Hopefully more training will correct the defensive mistakes of last year which still seem to be present, and hopefully we will actually begin taking our chances before the new season starts. Some of those attacks were good, at least. I can't believe Theo missed all those chances; he's usually much more clinical.

That ref didn't seem to be doing a good job either, although in fairness the stream I watched never showed a replay of anything other than goals so I can't say for sure how bad he was.

Jenkinson had a good game.

May be I am being too harsh in my valuation here, but preseason or not, there has to be a desire to win every game.. People wonder what made us blow up a potential wonderful season last time, in my opinion - we just lost the desire to finish on the winning side.. And I didn't see that today either.. Okay the second half was really good to watch and we dominated them.. But this is a mediocre team in the Chinese league.. We should be winning these..

Ideally, you want to dominate and score.. But especially when smaller teams play us, they don't mind parking the bus and shutting shop while we dominate with possession.. This is when we need to break their defense and score, and we barely ever manage to do that.. This results in us pushing more and more on the offensive, and leaving our back lines exposed to counters..

I'm hoping Gervinho can help sort this with his direct play.. But tbh, I don't see a solution to this problem right now..
