Really man.. I took two hours away from my books to watch the game.. I promised myself I'll make up for it after the game.. And now I'm just too pissed to get back to my books..

This. Remember Chelsea had an atrocious preseason last year and then were unstoppable for the first few months of the season. This result wasn't great, but really this game was a warmup. Besides, every single year we have a crappy preseason game at some point, now we've gotten it out of the wayRedEyesWhiteBeard wrote:beatrixasdfghjk. wrote:Yes, but the way our season goes is:
Aww, it's only the pre-season.
Aww, it's only a crap team.
Aww, it's only the start of the season.
Aww, it's only the League Cup final =='
usually are pre seasons are very promising lol
I honestly felt the attitude wasn't that bad today - people were attempting to tackle and get the ball back, except we couldn't find any openings in the defence and our shooting was woeful. Guys like Song and Wilshere were visibly frustrated by all the calls going against them, and in a few weeks nobody will be missing those chances. We'll be fiiiiiine.

My man, I really hope you got this right.. I am going to the Cologne game next weekend and it better be worth it! I can't afford spending a day in Cologne in the middle of my exams for a crappy match..

Have fun man, I'm sure we'll win. Just don't blame me for false hope if we mess it upsrigooner wrote:Eman wrote:Besides, every single year we have a crappy preseason game at some point, now we've gotten it out of the way

On another note, Liverpool struggled with Malaysia today. 6-3 at full-time, but it was tough for them. Cheer anyone up? Or should we already expect to do better than Liverpool lol?

It looks like we are back to where we left last season. We dominated but the finishing was missing. Wenger really needs to do something about that. And Manone can forget about playing for arsenal he is too good for arsenal like squillaci.

Re: Hangzhou Greentown v Arsenal
Squillaci was awful out there. Coulnd't tackle and couldn't clear the ball properly and this was against, with all due respect, a Chinese side.
The whole defence was pretty crap in the first half. High line being caught out time after time, poor clearances and too many gaps.
I have no idea what Mannone was doing with that free-kick. How did he not catch it? Marking wasn't great but Mannone should have caught it or at least palmed it away from the goal.
The defence was much better in the second half with Szczesny, Koscielny and Vermaelen. Add Sagna and Gibbs and I think we have our back five for next season.
At the very least, we were much better as an offensive force in the second half. The introducition of Wilshere really helped us with our build-up. Just a shame our finishing was lacking.
All in all we shouldn't be worried too much. After all, the players are still lacking fitness and match practice. The team will improve as pre-season goes on.

Join the club mate.. Unfortunately, neither is a out and out LB.. They are more like wingers in a defensive role.. LMW or something, between a LW and a LWB..

Hadn't seen much of them that time.. Back then, didn't think of a day when Clichy wouldn't be playing!
Even now, my opinion is largely based on what I have seen of them over the last 180 minutes.. And the fact that Gibbs is injury prone, though vastly gifted technically..

Everytime I hear Traore's name, I think of that time when Drogba threw him around like a rag doll at the Emirates.

It's only preseason, so I'm not too worried. Most of these matches are experimental in nature or just for fitness. We still should have won, though...
I really, really want to see Gervinho in action.

Its a preseason game and its good for a team to tie or lose during preseason its a way to find your weakness. 1-1 is not bad.

Traore is more talented but Gibbs knows how to play left back, he clearly understands the position while Traore just attacks all the time

I think Gibbs is more talented than troare but he really needs to work on his positioning and ofc his fitness.gunnerlistick wrote:djoe26 wrote:I like Gibbs more than Traore, i've seen Troare playing Juve and belive he is not as good as Gibbs.ali8775 wrote:I like Traore more then Gibbs...

Traore is faster, he has a good cross on him, can shoot and he is stronger. He might be more talented but he is not a better left back than Gibbo.
