Adama plays in Messi's position so... he wouldn't get playing time in at least the next 4-5 years.

Not trying to justify how they treat the cantera these days but it can't be easy holding onto attacking talent with players like Messi, Neymar and Suarez around.

More so if LE prefers experienced players as subs. Those who know how to hold onto a lead in late stages of the game.

Also, I don't think Adama really suits La Liga's style of play. IMO leaving for BPL is the best step in his carrer at the moment.

Oh, and, I doubt Pedro will leave, at least now. With Neymar out he'll have to play at least the next 4 games and I'm sure they'll convince him to stay.

It's just 4 games, they want to keep him until after the Super Copa then after that he will be gone and Neymar will be back around that time. Adama would of easily been able to compete with Munir and Sandro for a back up role. Not only that I see Munir and Sandro excelling more in central positions while Adama was more of a winger than them (not to mention Deulofeu but who's keep track of the cantera players we sold and replaced with almost 30 year old Liga players).

It's confirmed NO buy back option will be included.

Very good deal in fairness. € 10 - 12M for a 2nd division player who might never become good enough for the first team. And in case he does explode, there is the buyback clause. Should have been done with the likes of Bojan before he got loaned to 12 different clubs and then left for free. Selling with buyback >>> loaning.

yeah 10-12m is a good price for a 19 yo. The question is why are we letting that player go, especially if Pedro goes. We don't have that deep a bench on the wing. Pedro, then Munir, Sandro and... ? I suppose we could always use Rafinha, Turan and Iniesta in those roles, but it really does seem like we have minutes to give to a promising youngster.

strikers ---> suarez, messi, rafinha, munir, sandro, lee

right winger ---> Messi, rafinha, munir, sandro, vidal, suarez

we don't need adama, we have a lot of other players, come january we'll be more than fine, if anything one youngster has to get sold.

It's not a matter of need. Can we use those players in the wing? Sure. Did we also have the chance to keep a promising prospect and give him minutes to develop? Definitely.

So why didn't we?

HSV won't take Halilovic on loan because they can't match the requirements which is playing 60% of the games. Borussia interested but obviously they can't assure him that either.

Most likely will join a La Liga club in the end, and that's for the best imo.

Just get him to Rayo or Celta, what's the issue? Those clubs would take him with open arms as long as Barca pays his wages.

The issue is that he wants to play away from Spain. Remember reading he prioritizes England, for whatever reason.

Barca's transfer policy is one of the worst in the world among top clubs, that is quite clear.

I don't understand why Barca gives the young players the freedom to choose where they want to go. Barca should choose the clubs for them according to what's best for their development and nothing else. It's quite clear for example Deulofeu only chose England because he wanted to experience the EPL hype and thought he was too good for a lower tier La Liga team.

Well, I don't think it's like they get to choose but their say on the matter is simply respected.

Also it's not easy to assess which place is the best for their development. I mean, you never know what awaits at a certain club. Just because Rayo plays great, attacking football and has a charismatic coach it doesn't neccesarily mean it's what's best for the player... or maybe it does.

Nothing is a guarantee but Rayo is certainly more of a guarantee for playing time than back-to-back Europa League winners Sevilla for example. On top of playing an attacking brand of football that is in line with Barca's philosophy.
