Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Masterclass by Khan. Fantastic use of tactics and technical skills. So different to how he was 3 years back. So composed in every round without losing his head.
Great win. Never in doubt. LOL at anyone who thought Devon scrubxander could even get close Khan dominated every single round bar few which he edged rather than being a clear winner. Would even call it 12-0 lol. Easily one of his best performance of his career. You'll know when you watch it.
Judges score it 120-108, 119-109 and 118-110 for Amir Khan.
You can hate on his arrogance or stupidity but you can never doubt his talent. His speed leaves you in awe every time lol. Insane stuff when he puts his head right.
Now Brook next hopefully.

Devon Alexander
You are a southpaw, work your jab to set up your left hook. Instead of making it unbelievably obvious that the left hook was all you were looking for.
Use your footwork to then exploit the fact that the guy now has to be cautious of your jab and start to work on the body.
Did he he have no game-plan at all? All he tried to do was counter-punch.

Devon relies on speed. Kinda not a good idea to do when khan is probably the fastest boxer out there

Good credible win for Kha, used his advantages. Devon's small reach hurt him, couldnt really get near Khan consistently.

Looks like both sides had their egos in high motion when both were in their prime.
Didn't know Pac had money problems. Thought he was a politician lol.
Don't see the fight ever happening now. One, it will be shit and Floyd is in miles better shape and condition. Second, it will get the numbers up for sure due to the hype, but Manny will walk in expecting a defeat so he doesn't have the motivation in it. Is he just gonna do it for money? Maybe. But he probably will try fighting others before to have a good chance at winning while making money.
Won't be surprised if he offers Khan a fight since Khan is a money maker.
He is, but he is also a gambler and has invested in loads of things. Plus he isnt his own boss.
I dont think the fight would be shit now though, well not much different to 4-5 years ago. Floyd wins a point decision where he frustrates Manny but is made to work for it. I dont think Manny would go in thinking he cant win, I think he is too good to think that against anyone.
In the end, Manny will push for this fight because he wants the money and needs Floyd for that. Floyd will never accept a fight not on his terms because he has earnt it and his ego wont allow anything less...the problem is he hates Arum and Arum hates him, so that makes everything difficult.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
I see. The Arum factor makes it very unlikely they will fight I guess. pacquaio should try and look for some other boxer who can guarantee him decent money.
What do you think about Kell brook btw? I have read mixed opinion of him. He is unbeaten but apparently the only credible guy he beat was porter

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Been saying for years that Arum is the reason this fight hasn't happened and likely won't.
This BS that Floyd is running is just spew formed by uninformed individuals, he's always wanted the fight and quite frankly I don't blame Pacquaio either. Not his fault that Arum is a grade a bellend although if he really wanted the fight he could have left Top Rank.
But that's not either here nor there, fact is Arum is the reason it's never happened and unless something changes he'll need to be eliminated from the process for it to happen.

Floyd Mayweather v Manny Pacquiao bout moves closer
A long-awaited welterweight bout between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao appears to have edged closer.
Fred Sternburg, Pacquiao's agent, denied reports the Filipino had agreed terms on a 2 May meeting in Las Vegas.
But he told BBC Sport: "There is still a long way to go. At least the movement has been in a positive direction."
Eight-division world champion Pacquiao, 36, and unbeaten American Mayweather, 37, are considered the best fighters of their generation but have never fought.
Filipino Pacquiao is the holder of the WBO belt, while Mayweather is the WBC and WBA champion.
But they have never been able to agree a deal over a bout, with one stumbling block being Mayweather's insistence on a strict blood-testing programme during training.
Pacquiao has said those demands cast him in a bad light as a suspected cheat.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Highly suspicious with this "news"
Pacquiao agreed what "terms"?
Floyd has given terms he has agreed with? Or more likely...Arum has given terms to Pacquiao which he agrees with and Floyd obviously will not.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
What "terms" has he agreed to?
We know how this goes, Floyd makes the demands and the other fighter takes them or declines them.
So Floyd has made his demands and Pac has agreed to them?
Or, Arum who will do all Pac's talking for him has made terms which he will push on Floyd, which Pac has agreed to.

Floyd might be more willing to agree to a fight now as he knows Pacquaio is way past his best and can easily be defeated as scrubs like Marquez proved.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Exactly lol.
Anyone who wasn't a fanboy knew Pacquaio never had anything but a punchers chance anyway.
He's far too defensively naive, aggressive and open not to mention his jab is nowhere near good enough. To cause Floyd problems you need a brilliant jab.
I remain skeptical of this news as well, he's agreed terms yet Floyd hasn't said a word? Sounds like Arum is lying again to make the public think he's running when in fact he's always been the problem anyway.
I don't find it a coincidence that this shit has been brought up again when it's common knowledge both Pacquaio and Arum are struggling financially.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
For the record, if they did actually fight. Ill predict already, Manny wins 3 or 4 out of the first 6 and then Floyd wins 5 of the last 6, if not all 6 to take a decision win in a fight which ends tamely but starts of interesting.
Then Floyd retires like he said he would, Pacman fanboys cry about him running from a rematch
