Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Garcia has no interest in fighting him, I cant imagine why he would either.
I think if you get knocked out/stopped in a fight (fairly, not like Groves-Froch 1) then that'll be it.
Maidana was calling for a rematch straight away, dont think he will ever get it. Too dangerous.

Mayweather Sr. say's Money and Pacquiao will fight next year, sure buddy
Would anybody here even be excited if they fought now? I wouldn't, I would watch it just because I like boxing.. I sure as hell won't buy it on PPV which I would have 4-5 years ago

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
I dont think I would be excited, but I wouldnt have been 5 years ago either because I dont think Pacquiao actually has a chance to win.
Not even trolling or anything. Manny simply doesnt knock people out at this weight and I dont see him stopping Floyd either because Floyd cant answer back a Manny flurry.
His last KO was vs finished (via Floyd) Hatton almost 6 years ago....his last stoppage a severely weight drained Cotto 5 years ago.
Fight 100% does the distance and I dont see how Manny wins one of those against Floyd.
So I wouldnt be excited but its certainly something I want to see and neither of them have declined to the point where they arent themselves any more.

5,6 years ago Pac stood a chance. Not now unfortunately, but I'd still watch it and root for Pac.

I think Floyd would of have won then, and would win now but back then it would of been a much bigger spectacle... Now they're both on the decline, and Pacquiao got his ass laid out not too long ago also

Anthony Joshua ffs
Finished another match inside 4 minutes lol. 2nd round stoppage by the ref.
He needs to fight better people now. Reputation has been built. Go after Tyson Fury, price or even David Haye

I dont think they are both on such a big decline the spectacle changes much at all tbh.
Yeah, Manny got KO'ed....but he was doing better in that fight than he did in his "prime" vs Marquez 3. Marquez just exposed what was always there, but with an incredible punch.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Pac 5-6 years ago would have had a much better chance, but still would have been underdog.
His decline especially in volume and movement suits Floyd perfectly.
Sure this fight will be hyped and fun but I can't see it being very exciting during the fight and inevitably it will be a Floyd win.

Pacquiao should really stop fighting against these scrubs. Had Algieri down about 6 times during the 12 rounds.
Just give us Pac - Money once and for all and then I'm done with boxing.

No bump for the Kahn - Alexander fight?
Here's hoping Alexander breaks that glass jaw of that scrub.
All I've been hearing Kahn talk about in the build-up to this fight is his superior hand speed.
What about your suspect footwork?
What about your foam jaw?
What about the fact you are afraid to fight up close?
All things Alexander does well. He has enough power to damage Kahn (like Garcia did), his footwork is MUCH better and (unless the ref allows it) he will be able to back Kahn up and work the body, slowing Kahn down.
Got Alexander winning this by decision. He'll knock down Kahn twice.

Khan will ruin him lol. No hype around this one for that reason.
Khan for Unanimous decision.
The only way Khan won't win is if his arrogance come in the way again and he gets cocky. Pure boxing skills, Khan is above Alexander in every single way.

Khan aint ruined anyone the boxing community recognises since....ever.
Ill favour him in this, but Alexander could give him trouble I believe. He is a bit weak mentally though and if Khan dominates a few consecutive early rounds I could see a lobsided decision.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
So here is the story according to Floyd.
5-6 years ago when it is without question from both sides, there was negotiations, Pac declined the random blood and urine test. We know this to be fact (IIRC this was confirmed by Pacs side) and the reason was Pac (or Arum, IDK) rejected was because of the random nature of it. I think most reasonable people come to the conclusion that it probably wasnt Pac on PEDS but his team not accepting Floyd's demands because at that time Pac's team didnt accept the "B side" role in demands, seeing themselves as equal to Floyd.
Some time more recently (before Marquez 4), Floyd offered Pac 40m to fight. Pac (probably Arum) rejected because they didnt want a set number but 50% of everything. Floyd rejected, Floyd gets better PPV numbers/still the A side etc. So, no fight, Floyd wont budge from the 40m offer, Pac (Arum) wont budge from the 50%.
Now fast forward to today, its fairly common knowledge Pac has money problems and they want the fight for Floyd. Pac (Arum) want the 40m Floyd offered previously...Floyd says no, you lost to Marquez, you lost to Bradly, your PPV numbers are even lower..your not getting 40m.
What is being offered is unknown and what happens going forward we dont know.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
The money thing is true. Pac did reject it.
He was on first take before his fight with Marquez talking about it.
Either way, Floyd, we all know they need the money, we know this. Find way to get Pac to go against Arum.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Interesting.
Looks like both sides had their egos in high motion when both were in their prime.
Didn't know Pac had money problems. Thought he was a politician lol.
Don't see the fight ever happening now. One, it will be shit and Floyd is in miles better shape and condition. Second, it will get the numbers up for sure due to the hype, but Manny will walk in expecting a defeat so he doesn't have the motivation in it. Is he just gonna do it for money? Maybe. But he probably will try fighting others before to have a good chance at winning while making money.
Won't be surprised if he offers Khan a fight since Khan is a money maker.

Round 3 was a bit more even I think. Khan's speed hurting Alexander but he always lands a punch which hurts khan towards the end
Round 4 was even too, probably just edge it to Khan.
This sky sports commentary is horrible. That scottish guy is so biased towards Khan that it makes me feel uncomfortable.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Masterclass by Khan. Fantastic use of tactics and technical skills. So different to how he was 3 years back. So composed in every round without losing his head.
Great win. Never in doubt. LOL at anyone who thought Devon scrubxander could even get close Khan dominated every single round bar few which he edged rather than being a clear winner. Would even call it 12-0 lol. Easily one of his best performance of his career. You'll know when you watch it.
Judges score it 120-108, 119-109 and 118-110 for Amir Khan.
You can hate on his arrogance or stupidity but you can never doubt his talent. His speed leaves you in awe every time lol. Insane stuff when he puts his head right.
Now Brook next hopefully.
