Cristiano can't play a through pass to save his life, yet some people think him and Messi on the same level.

You're actually celebrating that someone's hand was broken because of the club they support

He's not wrong, always said that he has more similarities with Cruyff than he does Maradona.

Re: The Lionel Messi Appreciation Thread & Fan Club II
Rakitic: Marvellous Messi is on same level as genius Gaudi
Barcelona's Croatian midfielder has compared the club's all-time leading goalscorer and his brilliance on a football field to the city's most famous Catalan architect
Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi is usually compared to the all-time greats such as Pele or Diego Maradona, but team-mate Ivan Rakitic had one from outside the box for the Argentina international.
Rakitic compared the five-time Ballon d'Or winner to famous Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi.
Gaudi was responsible for the design and construction of some of Barcelona's most iconic buildings - including the Sagrada Familia - and Rakitic said Messi is comparable to the architect for his brilliance on the field.
But like Gaudi, Messi has to have strong support behind him to succeed.
"Just talent is not enough," Rakitic explained to El Pais.
"If you take the best in every position, it will not be the best team.
"We can speak about Gaudi - he was a genius, he had unique ideas. But behind him there was a maths expert, with a structural plan, to support the creative idea. Without all of these, he would not have put up those buildings.
"They would be very pretty, but they would fall down. If Messi were an architect he would be Gaudi, [Jacques] Herzog and [Pierre] De Meuron, [Norman] Foster and the minimalism of [Ludwig] Mies van der Rohe. I would be his assistant, as I am now."
Rakitic has adapted well to life at Barcelona, with the Croatia international now a regular in Luis Enrique's table-topping side.
He said while the team's star front trio of Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar are gifted, they always put in their fair share of hard work.
"They know that behind them they have a support, and we know we have them," Rakitic said.
"We work hard to win games and if they help us that is good for everyone. They run, sacrifice themselves for the others and score their goals. The important thing is to be together and make a common effort."

Re: The Lionel Messi Appreciation Thread & Fan Club II
CR was no better tbh. kept losing the balls all the game.could not get past any player. was lucky that alves fall down in bad position and he got space to shoot. made some tackles but was bad in attack and build up
not taking anything from CR, but he looked like he declined a lot, or he was not interested in this game

Re: The Lionel Messi Appreciation Thread & Fan Club II
Dont be angry. Before i was a crazy fan of a past player.now i dont even remember him. So being a fan of a player is a temporary feeling. It doesnt worth to get angry for someone who will fade in few years when he stops playing

If the pitch had been made out of concrete, I'm sure he wouldn't have fallen like a rolled up carpet from a light knock to the front of his left leg.
I genuinely appreciate that he decided to go for glory instead of passing it to Suarez or Neymar
