Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
In addition, we should be building our team around Coutinho. To bring the best of him.
Benteke is the sort of forward Phil HATES to work with. He got out-paced by PHIL FREAKING JAGIELKA a couple of weeks ago

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
Yet all these "negative" spins have been fact / are putting themselves in place to be true so why are you mad?
And being linked with Messi IS stupid. He's never ever ever going to join us which would just mean we're wasting our time. lmao
Anyway, we've been linked with Ings for 7m, Milner on a free, 30m for Benteke, Sterling WILL NOT put in a transfer request but Liverpool do want to sell before his contract is up:
.@JBurtTelegraph - RS does not plan to issue a transfer request. #LFC won't allow RS to run his contract down beyond 2016, if he stays.
Paul Joyce - #LFC’s summer transfer plans will focus on signing a top class forward with Christian Benteke top of their wanted list.
.@JBurtTelegraph - QPR will make a windfall of up to £10m if #LFC sell Sterling for around £50m as he has a sell on clause of around 20%.
@JBurtTelegraph - #LFC are confident that they can land deals to sign Danny Ings, for a fee that could go as high as £7m, & James Milner.

I think Benteke could go well, if you change your style. It's not like Benteke is a bad CF, he is quality but he just doesn't suit you.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
Dzeko isn't really a target man, he's good with the ball at his feet. Benteke, too, can actually play football rather than just being a big strong guy in the box.
And overall I'm fed up with this idea within a large part of our fans that we absolutely need a pacey, nimble, technically superb striker to "suit our style". We haven't really had a successful attacking style all season. Sterling is exactly that kind of player, but he wasn't really putting in awesome shifts as striker. When Sturridge was fit, it hardly was a revelation that "aah, now this is more like it, this is a striker that suits our style, now we're so much better". We weren't - and we were more disappointed than thrilled about Daniel's performances. He didn't look like the missing piece of the puzzle.
Just forget about this mold that you think our strikers need to fit into. We need good players who know how to score goals at this level. Simple as that.

Coutinho needs a mobile player, without that player he was ineffective in the first few games of this season.arty wrote:Just forget about this mold that you think our strikers need to fit into. We need good players who know how to score goals at this level. Simple as that.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
I don't mind keeping Toure. With Gerrard out the room could use the experience and leadership. He is the least of our concerns. Why pick such small things to nitpick?
The thing everyone should be concerned about isn't Toure, the manager or even the committee (though that would be nice to see taken care of). What we need are legitimate top end players who can score. End of. Everything else is secondary.

or you could just get someone who can turn a 4m player from the Polish league into a top end striker within a year

So what did Rodgers do with Sturridge and Coutinho?

FSG, Rodgers, committee & everyone at the club: "brb, signing young talent".

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
Wisdom is solid as a full back and is young, relax. I rate him as arguably our best full back right now defensively.
Kolo Toure will hardly feature so calm the f*** down. We needed his experience, maturity, and winning mentality in the dressing room. It's for cohesion reasons. Breathe.
Anyway, BOTH this committee and Rodgers have to go. I can't understand why people are making so many excuses for Rodgers. "ohh he needs a striker" Suck a dick. He had over 100m to spend, and 2 months to find one. He didn't. The end. At the end of the day, the committee work FOR Rodgers. He's not great in the market. He's not great at managing a squad. He's not great on the field. He's a decent coach, I'll give him that. But he's not a manager. We move on. Well, I hope. I'm just patiently waiting until this meeting/review in America. It's exactly what they did with Dalglish.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
Benteke, Milner & Ings seem to be our top targets whether we like it or not.
However, today's rumors suggest Spurs are willing to pay 12m pounds for Ings, so that the decision for fees don't go into tribunal and Spurs agree a deal with Burnley. Oka
Well it won't surprise me if don't get either of the 3 though. Would be typical of us

Wisdom is a player I have some liking and I think he can improve if he plays regularly under a good coach. He will be surely better than all the option we will have in the next season. I think Wisdom can be even better than Flana
Toure, I would have liked him gone. As much as I want experience to stay in the house. If we have Lovren, Skrtel, Sakho, Illori, even Can. So actually we should be promoting some CB from youth team. It has been time since we had a good CB from academy in the first team.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
Can should be moving to midfield.
Skrtel and Sakho are the only decent players on that list. If we go back to a "3 man defence" Kolo could be useful for rotational / back up reasons / give advice to the younger and ones. Anyway regardless, he makes up for it what he does behind the scenes. He keeps the players together, and happy. Which is what Liverpool need with the dressing room looking like total shambles right now. It's a one year deal, from all reports he's not earning much it's not the end of the world. Settle.
Ilori is a kid who is most likely getting loaned out or sold, the same goes for Coates. It's what Liverpool do. Don't get your hopes up high. Which is a shame because I really liked Coates and thought he could make it here.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
Honestly if any more managers play Can in the back, i won't support them ever, they obv have no clue on how to use the guy.
I'm not too worried about Wisdom, the toure signing is bollocks, you want *bleep* experience don't *bleep* let Agger go, who has always been better than kolo. Paying him wages to rot on the bench is useless, any minutes he takes up are wasted opportunity for young players to step up.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
Perhaps the only reason we extended Comedy Kolo was our EL campaign (if we make it through the qual). He will be easy to send to those Thursday night games while Skrtel and Sakho can chill. But even then I would have preferred Coates or Ilori for that role, but oh well, it's not a major thing.
Wisdom, the only way I see him featuring for us next season is if we play three at the back. He's not a better full-back than Manquillo or Flanagan, so he's definitely not at the club for that purpose.
