Re: Our Killer Schedule Until 4 March
I hope the key players get some rest somewhere. There isn't any game aside the Palace & Burnley ones to rotate.7 Feb: Everton (a)
10 Feb: Tottenham (h)
14 Feb: Crystal Palace (away, cup)
19 Feb: Besiktas (h)
22 Feb: Southampton (a)
26 Feb: Besiktas (a)
1 March: Man City (h)
4 March: Burnley (h)

Re: Our Killer Schedule Until 4 March
If we don't rest Coutinho (along with few others) against Palace, I will be so mad. He looked decidedly tired today.

Re: Our Killer Schedule Until 4 March
27 Jan: Chelsea (away, cup) L
31 Jan: West Ham (h) W
4 Feb: Bolton (away, cup) W
7 Feb: Everton (a) D
10 Feb: Tottenham (h) W
14-15 Feb: Crystal Palace (away, cup) W
19 Feb: Besiktas (h)
22 Feb: Southampton (a)
26 Feb: Besiktas (a)
1 March: Man City (h)
4 March: Burnley (h)
7 March: FA Cup 6th round
Apart from the League Cup result, the killer run has gone well so far
Fatigue is a bit of an issue, though, there isn't a graver indication of Coutinho's fatigue level than the fact that we actually improved quite a bit against Palace in the last 15 minutes when Lambert came on for Philippe.

Re: Our Killer Schedule Until 4 March
I really think the draw against Everton was an missed (a huge one) opportunity to close the gap on T4. Specially, given the fact that they were quite poor. Also, that was the match where we saw the first signs of Henderson & Coutinho being fatigued.Apart from the League Cup result, the killer run has gone well so far Cool

I don't believe any of the key players can/will be rested in the next FOUR games.

Re: Our Killer Schedule Until 4 March
Coutinho needs a rest but he's also probably our best player when fully fit. It's hard to rest your best player in very important fixtures.
Maybe what would be smart would be using him as a substitute to bring some energy and creativity at the last 30 minutes or so of a game when the rest of the players on the pitch are fairly tired already if he must be used.
I'd definitely like to see some combination of Lallana, Sterling, Sturridge and Balotelli used together in a 1-2 or 2-1 at the tip of the 3-4-3 during this stretch so he doesn't burn out. We'll need him for games like the FA and Euro cup finals.

Re: Our Killer Schedule Until 4 March
That's the point. Would you keep using the best player at 60%, 70%, 80% until he succumbs (to injury or fatigue) or 'risk' resting him for a game (or two) and unleash a 100% player for another 5-6 games.Coutinho needs a rest but he's also probably our best player when fully fit. It's hard to rest your best player in very important fixtures.
Thing is it isn't much 'risk' at all. I think a combination Lallana, Raheem, Balotelli would be quite good.

I think I still cant believe that we have come so far in that fixture list with so many positive results. Now just go through to the next round of Europa League by resting all key players. And give the best performance of the season at Anfield till now and get..... earlier I would have said one point is enough but seeing that ManC have lost against Arsenal at home, I think we can three points. I know I am getting greedy, but that is how this team has helped me feel

Re: Our Killer Schedule Until 4 March
Mar 1: ManCity (EPL/H)
Mar 4: Burnley EPL/H)
Mar 8: Blackburn (FAC/H)
Mar 16: Swansea (EPL/A)
Mar 22: United (EPL/H)
If we get past Besiktas there will two more games on March 12 & 19. Then there's the International Break where most of our regulars will be called-up.

I nearly replied to this earlier today that "Yeah, our insane run could be really crazy long", but thought 'let's see this Besiktas game first'... Well, at least there's rest in sight now...

Re: Our Killer Schedule Until 4 March
FA Cup and league then, after seeing the 10 minutes of the second half, I really thought we are better if we go out, because we will never win it if we play like that in an away game !!

Well, we'll get plenty of rest now after we handle the next 3 matches (City, Burlney, Blackburn).

Re: Our Killer Schedule Until 4 March
So, a blessing in disguise ??? We will have just Five games for the remaining three months of the season. The likes of Skrtel, Henderson, Coutinho can do with a little less workload.

Re: Our Killer Schedule Until 4 March
no opposite, if we are already up by 2-0, I wont bring him at all . In fact, when we need that special Gerrard effect we can get him, in a situation like 0-0 or when behind 0-1, something like that.

I don't know if Rodgers will be tempted to use his best XI for the remaining season (since we have just 4/5 games/month now), but we all saw what wonders a few days rest did to Henderson, Coutinho.
If Sakho is available against Burnley, I would be tempted to rest Emre for Toure/Lovren. Then rest Henderson against Blackburn for Emre or play a Gerrard-Allen midfield and rest Skrtel for Emre.

Re: Our Killer Schedule Until 4 March
Hopefully Gerrard missing out through injury has helped Rodgers realize that we play better without him starting in this formation. I'm already starting to have chills of fear down my spine at the thought of Gerrard starting the derby against Man United, which would be purely a sentimental decision and wrong.

Could you update it please? I think it is safe to say that you guys have done pretty well through this phase, given you are the most in form team in the league since mid-Dec or something?

Re: Our Killer Schedule Until 4 March
It's even more impressive that the two losses in that span both came in extra time as well.
We're kind of spoiled under Rodgers in second halves of the seasons, truly.
