Our December Schedule
December 2: Liecester vs. Liverpool (EPL)
December 6: Liverpool vs. Sunderland (EPL)
December 9: Liverpool vs. Basel (UCL)
December 14: Manchester U vs. Liverpool (EPL)
December 17: Bournemouth vs. Liverpool (COC)
December 21: Liverpool vs. Arsenal (EPL)
December 26: Burnley vs. Liverpool (EPL)
December 29: Liverpool vs. Swansea (EPL)
We have two very crucial games on 9th & 14th and I want Rodgers to save-up Gerrard & Raheem for these two. So for Liecester & Sunderland, I would like to see:
----------Mignolet-----------
Manquillo-Skrtel-Toure-Enrique
------------Lucas-----------
-----Henderson--Lallana-----
----------Coutinho-----------
-------Borini--Lambert-------
I think these two FB offers more defensive solidity than GJ & AM. However, I would like see either of the later two coming in as sub along with Emre (for Henderson) and Markovic (for Borini/Lambert).
Against Basel & Manchester Moreno, Gerrard and Raheem will replace Enrique, Lucas and Borini respectively. Against Bournemouth, I will be tempted to use Johnson (for Manquillo), Lovern (for Toure), Emre (for Henderson), Allen (for Lallana/Coutinho) and Markovic (for Lambert) while with Arsenal & Swansea we revert to the squad as against Basel & MU.

We have already dug deep into our depth (Toure, Allen, Lambert) . Or did you mean the likes of Enrique, Lallana, Borini .Red Alert wrote:I wonder if any of our depth will come into use.

Re: Our December Schedule
All of these are very winnable games. The toughest of which will be Manchester United away.
Hoping to see 5 wins of these 8 games to right the ship a little going into the new year, with the most important win (obviously) being over Basel.

Re: Our December Schedule
Rodgers should really optimize Enrique, Lucas, Emre, Lallana, Markovic & Borini during December schedule. Also, Gerrard, Raheem & Henderson should rested as much possible.

Re: Our December Schedule
They're all crucial, lol. Tonight's game probably the most crucial one of them all. And I'd really like to progress in the League Cup as well. Need some success rather than more disappointments.
Shit, I'm scared of all of the games on that list lol.

At this moment ManU & Arsenal are best poised to finish T4. So if we harbor any wish of CL next season we need to beat these two to stay in contention.Art Morte wrote:They're all crucial, lol. Re: Our December Schedule
considering that a win in any game is difficult for us according to our current form, it seems like every game is imp. I am not even sure if we will win against Burnley away and Swansea home

Re: Our December Schedule
December 2: Liecester vs. Liverpool (EPL) WIN
December 6: Liverpool vs. Sunderland (EPL) DRAW
December 9: Liverpool vs. Basel (UCL) DRAW
December 14: Manchester U vs. Liverpool (EPL) LOSS
December 17: Bournemouth vs. Liverpool (COC) WIN
Had we beaten Basel - like we really should have - our December would not have been too bad. Anyway, the last three matches of December will largely define our direction, I feel.
December 21: Liverpool vs. Arsenal (EPL)
December 26: Burnley vs. Liverpool (EPL)
December 29: Liverpool vs. Swansea (EPL)
I'd say that two wins from those three games would indicate we're improving. It's also very, very important to not lose to Arsenal. Burnley away and Swansea home are exactly the sort of games that a top-4 contender needs to win, especially since we have lost all four matches against the current top-4 (Chelsea (h), City (a), United (a) and West Ham (a)).
December 6: Liverpool vs. Sunderland (EPL) DRAW
December 9: Liverpool vs. Basel (UCL) DRAW
December 14: Manchester U vs. Liverpool (EPL) LOSS
December 17: Bournemouth vs. Liverpool (COC) WIN

Re: Our December Schedule
We need to win ALL three December games. In some other circumstances it may have been OK if drew with Arsenal, but we have lost SO MUCH grounds in the race for CL places, now it's imperative to beat them to hang on to them (or MU).I'd say that two wins from those three games would indicate we're improving. Re: Our December Schedule
Obviously would be fantastic to win them all, but we haven't won three games in a row this season, so I'm a little skeptical whether we'll do it now.
I would quite happily take two wins and a draw from those three games if you offered that to me now.

This has the potential to either be an amazing or awful Christmas gift for us.
Out of the CL, one point from two games against top-4 rivals in the PL and progressing in the League Cup, can't say that is what I wished for Christmas

Newcastle play United and Everton.
Swansea play Villa and Liverpool.

Basically by January we should be in the top 8. Anything less is a failure ie 2 wins in the next two games Burnley and Swans, Anything less is absolutely unacceptable.

You mean Burnley and Swansea. And yeah, like I said above, two wins from our three games against Arsenal, Burnley and the Swans and that's good, that's where we need to be. So, let's win.

Re: Our December Schedule
Looking at those Boxing Day games, there is potential for a great day for us.
Chelsea beat West Ham.
Palace might get something from Southampton.
Leicester might get something from Tottenham.
What ever result in ManU v Newcastle will help us one way or the other.

Re: Our December Schedule
I would like to see Gerrard, Henderson & Raheem dropped for the next two games. I believe the trio has been stretched too far and we are dangerously courting either a long-term injury or a dip in form.
I would prefer Lucas, Emre and Moreno or Johnson or Borini or Balotelli or Lambert to fill-in for the trio in the next two games.
------------Mignolet------------
-------Toure-Skrtel-Sakho------
Markovic-Lucas-Henderson-Moreno
--------Lallana-Coutinho--------
------------Lambert------------
Considering Markovic can't be any worse in finishing than Raheem, we can play him upfront with Johnson as RWB.

Re: Our December Schedule
So, that was 11 pts from 6 matches, 1,83 pts per match in December. Prior to December we had averaged 1,31 pts per match, so that's improvement, now it just needs to continue.
