seriously, he was easily the most memorable player in the WC. Announced his name in household football. Went on to prove that he can just be as good as Ozil and Di Maria for Madrid and has the potential to get better.
Plus, he has scored a few crackers this year, among them the best goal of the world cup.

Stop the annual jizzfest on Ronaldo/Messi because we already know what they're capable of.

Benzema was poor for large strectes of last year but he was injured so that didn't go in his favour. Costa cut his knee open scoring a goal against Getafe and was available the next game and even scored. You cant doubt that guys excellence last season. Costa was injured for as much as Ronaldo in the second half of the season but he kept going because Atleti had no other offensive goal threat. We can blame Carlo for running everybody to the ground but imo Costa was slightly superior. This season however Benzema has been the best CF so far but we haven't won anything major so I decided to base that award on the business end of last season when we gave up on LaLiga while Atleti kept going eventhough they had a smaller squad than us and Costa coming in and out through inuury

I dont doubt Benz is a better goal scorer than Costa and any other forward bar Suarez, Messi and Ronaldo when he decides to work hard but you and I both know goals scored doesnt tell the full story. If goap scored was what we measured players excellence on Bale would be deemed one of our best players which he is very very very extremely far away from the truth. There are some games a forward wont have scored but he did so many other things great. Some people especially gil would be like oh he didn't score therefore he's been crap.

For me last season outweights this season or else I would've chosen Benzema

Costa played his first game for Spain like 2 weeks before the WC. I am and will not count his wc towards anything other than an adjustment period

Costa played for a defensive team yet scored so many decisive goals that took Atleti to the CL final and won them the league. A tiny little goal drought when he was playing inhuman for pretty much the whole season is nothing, all forwards go through drought at one point or another during the season. Do I need to drag out the benzema thread to referesh your memory of what people thought of Benzema last season???? Benzema was not even in the top five of forwards last season ffs. I know he is your favourite player and all but lets show some perspective here. Benzema was poor from August till November and then from February till the end of the season, now I know the first half of last season does not count but I am just showing you how misguided your opinion is. This season he is different but last season he was poor
