Women Football Season 2014/15 Empty Women Football Season 2014/15

Post by rwo power Sun Oct 12, 2014 5:11 pm

Arsenal Ladies have been better in the past. They are actually the only English women team who won the Women's Champions League so far (in 2005/06). ^^

BTW, I thought we could use a thread for women football, too. Here all the women leagues and CL can be discussed in one place - and mind you. If you only come here to post stupid comments, I will not hesitate to dock 25% from your warning level each time. This thread is for proper discussion and chauvinistic comments have no place here. If you don't like it, just don't post.

By the way, right now the women's CL Last 16 (First Leg) are being played.

FT - Frankfurt 5:0 Torres
FT - Brøndby 5:0 Gintra
FT - Neulengbach 0:4 Wolfsburg
FT - Zürich 2:1 Glasgow City
FT - Rosengård 2:1 Fortuna
FT - Linköping 5:0 Zvezda 2005
FT - Paris 1:1 Lyon
FT - Barcelona 0:1 Bristol

http://www.uefa.com/womenschampionsleague/season=2015/matches/results/index.html

Oh, and the friendly of the English NT vs German NT which will be played on 23 Nov 2014 will be played before a crowd of 55 000 supporters at Wembley. There could have been more tickets sold, but the English FA capped the sale due to engineering works on the London Underground and concerns about the transportation.

This means the attendance at the women's friendly actually will surpass that of the men's team's friendly against Norway in September which was played before a crowd of 40,181.

Well, VfL Wolfsburg won the treble in 2012/13 (Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, Champions League) and the double in 2013/14 (Bundesliga, Champions League), thus they are the first German football team who won the CL back-to-back. They want to try and win it for a third time in succession.

Sports and Women is always controversial... Hmmm... If a woman wants to be an athlete, she must be dedicated 100%. It is either her personal life or football. I.e Pregnancy and other women related issues lol...

P.S No offence intended Smile

On Thursday, 14 May 2015, 18:00 GMT+2, the

Women's Champions League final 2014/15

will be contested in Berlin between

1. FFC Frankfurt vs Paris Saint-Germain

While it is the debut final for PSG, 1.FFC Frankfurt currently are the record CL winners who managed to obtain the trophy three times already, albeit a while ago in the years. 2002, 2006 and 2008. As Frankfurt ended in the 3rd place in the Bundesliga this season, winning the CL is their only hope to be able to play in next year's CL season.

PSG defeated holders and 2013+2014 CL winners VfL Wolfsburg and 2011+2012 CL winners Olympique Lyon en route to the final, and they boast a star-studded team with several French, German and Swedish internationals. Despite that, they ended up only as runners up in the Division 1 Féminine behind Olympique Lyon.

ZDF.de will stream the final for free on their website, so you can watch it if you are in Germany or use a German proxy.

If you watch it, watch out for 10 freaks in the first row of the Gegentribüne banana

Funny thing is, today's holiday (Ascension of Christ) is known as 'Herrentag' (Men's day) in atheist East Germany.
It's a basically a holiday reserved for boys will be boys, drunken hordes of badmannered guys all over town.
What better day is there to go to the Women's CL final cheers
