Well none of Marvel's casting choices has really been due to hype. Same with DC even. Doubt Sony will have much say in this. It's such a strange deal they've got going on

O'Brien is not that good of an actor. I didn't like his acting in The Maze Runner. Though he's got the physical aspects to do well as Spidey.

Logan Lerman is a great young actor. His performance in both Fury and Perks.. are something to behold.

Also Joe Manganiello heavily rumoured as Deathstroke. He's huuuuuuuuge, so that fits really well. Hopefully his acting holds up. Would also join the +2 comic book movie club (Was Mary J's first BF in Spider-Man1 )
