The Flash || CW

This show stars October 7th in USA. So I'd make a thread now to see how many are going to watch the show. So far me and RG are confirmed to be watching it.
The pilot is already floating around the internet, and I myself have seen it. It's very much a very light hearted and comedic superhero show, as apposed to the more serious tone of arrow. But the pilot was fairly good, the story will pick up for sure. And the special effect were great considering it's a CW tv-show.

Saw the IGN review for the pilot and it was 8.5 which is encouraging.

Can't wait for this and some overlapping stories eventually

Moto is definitely watching this along with M99 and Mclewis iirc. Tom will watch it as well. And Talking Reckless too.

saw the pilot a few months ago when it was leaked. It was pretty average tbh. Only interesting thing that happened was the ending.

Arrow was pretty average/poor in the first few episodes too, it took it a while to get where it is

I liked the pilot. This was better than the pilots of Arrow and Gotham. This show has potential and it's good that it's thematically so different from Arrow. The CGI was actually impressive, I wonder if they will keep that up for the entire season. I also liked the musical score very much. Not feeling the costume too much though. And I noticed that The Flash looks a lot like Andrew Garfield lol.

About what I expected it to be as far as pilots go. It's certainly not going to be as dark as Arrow was in tone and that's quite fine.

Just like the man himself, this show is going to move very fast if this pilot was anything to go by.

Just watched it. Loved the pilot tbh. Miles better than Gotham's.

I still reserve the opinion that this actor would suit Wally West far more but he is still pretty good as Barry. I can't swallow the fact Iris is black though... I don't know why they did that. Not to mention she looks 20 years older than Barry.

Killer Frost though

This show will deliver. Too much potential just like Arrow.

He is professor Zoom, Flash's arch rival. See him as the joker to Batman for example. He was never crippled in the storm but I won't say much since it's more fun when you find out about him as the show goes on.

We can't say for sure if he is going to be Professor Zoom but imo I think he will end up being Zoom. I think Eddie Thane is a red herring just like Tommy Merlyn was. Some people are theorizing that the professor might even be future version of Barry Allen.

Hmm you might actually be right. I might have been hasty with the judgement.

But that would be one heck of a twist if he is future Barry.

@WinterIsComing, keep my post aside for a bit. Let's see the future episodes. Either Iris' bf is going to become Zoom or that guy in the wheelchair. Or Both.

96% Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. That's damn impressive given that it's only aired the pilot so far.

Fantastic 2nd episode. Loved it.

I am confused about Dr Wells now. I was thinking M99 was right about him being the future Barry Allen but he killed in the end and that's not like Barry. Guess we'll see. Still think it's Zoom though

Multiplex was done nicely.
Barry/Joe Scenes were really good.

Yeah Wells is definitely not Barry. He is most likely Zoom like I originally though but for some reason he wants Barry to keep evolving. I'm thinking he came from the future and intentionally caused the particle accelerator catastrophe to accelerate Barry's transformation to Flash like Kessler in inFamous. Where does that leave Eddie Thane though? Is Wells an older Thane from the future? Is Thane and Wells both different versions of Zoom? Or is Thane a red herring like Tommy Merlyn was?

So freaking tired of "you're not my father" line tbh.
Great start to the show though.

I came across a few ideas that I liked on TVTropes:

- Eddie Thawne is an ancestor of Eobard Thawne - Eddie isn't Professor Zoom, but his descendant is. Eobard killed Barry's mom as revenge for what he did (or what he'll do) to his ancestor and ruining the Thawne family. But all he did is create a Predestination Paradox (the "changes" you're making to the past were what "already" happened anyway.)

- Zoom traveled back in time to kill Barry's mother - Eventually, Barry will go back in time to try to save her. The super-speed battle between him and Zoom created the red and yellow lightning young Barry saw around his mother. And to add to the sense of tragedy and triumph, Barry will get to talk to his mom. It will turn out that his mother's cries of "Don't let him touch you!" were an order to an adult Flash, meaning that his mom knowingly sacrificed her life to save him.

- Eddie Thawne will not be Professor Zoom - Instead of him being Zoom he will be Cobalt Blue and kick off the feud between the Allen and Thawne families. The secret in his past that they've mentioned could very well be his criminal family.

Wells might be Hunter Zolomon version of Zoom but Zolomon's main rival has always been Wally West.

That actually makes the most sense.

Ehhhh this episode didn't blow me away honestly.

Except for the teasing easter eggs....this has been pretty typical superhero TV stuff.

It's following the same garbage crap Arrow did. Really disliking it.

Now it's getting repetitive. Someone does a crime, turns out to be a meta human, Barry goes after him, fails, repeats with new tactic, succeeds, after credits tease of Harrison Wells. They need to change the formula of the next episodes

The episode was enjoyable, and it still will be(for me anyways) even if they keep doing the same thing however it will lose a lot of other fans.

I think they are trying to establish the characters. Specially building up Barry. But it was really awkward at times. The scene between Caitlin and Isco was so forced.

Thankfully the end scene where Barry's dad gave that speech made me forget that. Thought it was a good ending to an ok episode.

Wonder how Caitlin will turn into killer frost though.
