Just watched it and came to say that as well

The episode was enjoyable, and it still will be(for me anyways) even if they keep doing the same thing however it will lose a lot of other fans.

I think they are trying to establish the characters. Specially building up Barry. But it was really awkward at times. The scene between Caitlin and Isco was so forced.

Thankfully the end scene where Barry's dad gave that speech made me forget that. Thought it was a good ending to an ok episode.

Wonder how Caitlin will turn into killer frost though.

Anyway I have high hopes for next episode. Felicity and Captain Cold.

"My name is Barry Allen. I'm the fastest man alive." Why oh why do we need to hear this cringe worthy sentence in the intro ffs.

Also so many scrubs/scrubettas as usual. Only one I like is Flash, T-dog cop & the guy in wheelchair JD's big brother.

First episode was great but then it became dull and repetitive.

Hope they turn it around like they did with Arrow.

Well that's kinda the problem. Arrow started on a low and had to work itself to where it is now. The producers of that show tried to take those highs from Arrow and apply it to the Flash....what we've seen over the last couple of episodes is the result. This isn't really a high, but a plateau and it makes for pretty average stuff.

Show just needs to find its Slade Wilson to really challenge Barry.

Flash's atmosphere seems pretty bleak in comparison to Arrows. I watched both shows back to back and the difference was immense. Obviously Arrow is a veteran so it will be there but agreed that they need to build the show like they built Arrow. Not just repeat the same formula.

The problem with Flash of course is that his superpower is so silly.
So every fight will result in him running extra somehow in some way to beat the respective metahuman villain. And the intro and outro voiceover is indeed annoying.
If Usain Bolt says "I'm the fastest man alive", that means something, if this space-energy-electrocuted kiddo says it I'm like "no shit"...

On the contrary, Arrow has no superpowers but learned how to fight on the island etc. This flashback story is also something which added atmosphere and which Flash doesn't have.

Agree on some of that, Hans....the lack of flashback arcs definitely doesn't count in the Flash's favor. That's a casualty of the show though. There's was no really good way to introduce him as the Flash without doing it the way they did it so ultimately I don't have too many complaints about the lack of flashbacks. It's not something every show can or should pull off.

well, in a way he was already introduced in Arrow, which I liked (although it took me a couple of minutes to figure out it was indeed the same guy/universe, I'm not comic book versed and a little bit slow LOL).

This interaction between the shows is nice, obviously only works for people watching both so they have to double the information that people know what's going on.

I don't mind the show, will kee p watching it because I watch Arrow, but my main problem I guess really is his superpower.
For me it's just a bit silly, and it also makes for slightly idiotic showdowns.
Because then you'll have CGI orgys of a tornado with a different coloured ring flashing around it as Flash runs counter to the tornado movement LOL.
Or you have him running away from the gas guy to 'exhaust' him, because, well, running is what he does.
While I'm thinking "well how do you contain a guy who can turn into posion gas? DUH just throw some kind of container onto him.." ..

Best episode of the season so far. The flash series might turn it around faster than they did with the Arrow

Am I reading to much into this line by Dr Wells "One becomes intent on reversing one's fortune."

Weak point of the episode was that Plastique was a terrible actress.

Really? Thought she was decent.

I don't understand the direction in this show. Some of the scenes seem so rushed while others drags on for far too long. Dialogues are sometimes so cringe but they are good the other times

Good episode though. Joey is as good as Lance in Arrow imo. Like him.

Can't wait for CGI Grodd looooool.

I'm just genuinely annoyed by this bubbly cutie of a love interest. Glad he made her cry, at last no happy face anymore.

Kinda agree with M99 on Plastique....she had me shaking my head a couple of times during this episode. I hazy on the comic background of the character, but I get the feeling more could've been done to portray that character better.

Oh and Iris is basically Laurel Lance's dark-skinned doppelganger. That is all.
