Google Chrome - Shockwave Flash freezing?
Does anyone have the problem where 'Shockwave Flash' occasionally freezes tabs on Chrome?
Also I think it might be one of the reasons Chrome becomes laggy when there's numerous tabs open.

Re: Google Chrome - Shockwave Flash freezing?
This is where you guys start using the Browser that has innovated every major feature in browsers from disk caching to tabs, speed dial, cloud history/bookmark/speed-dial/form completion syncing, and even the oft promoted omnibar in Chrome but in this browser it's customizable (aka when I type "g lolcats" it searches lolcats on google or "y fails" it searches youtube for fails and "xh horny red heads") . The browser that has gone toe-to-toe with Chrome for speed since Chrome's release without having to be as anorexic as Chrome. It had tabs before Google was founded and I didn't realize
Torrent downloads required a separate client because this browser had it built in. I had to install program that allowed me to use mouse gestures for Windows Explorer (no not internet explorer) because it's so f****** useful.
They even have dedicated servers for those with trully shitty bandwidth and mobiles to compress the web pages and pictures so you don't use up your bandwidth or "data plan"
The only major new feature they didn't come up with was porn-mode/private browsing.
Sadly for this innovative half of you wouldn't be able to name this browser
It's always been marginally 2nd fastest and never fastest for long enough for them to use that line of marketing and of course can't hold a candle to the open source customizability of Firefox/Netscape which is really just living off its awesome free alternative to IE fame when it was released. (This browser wasn't free at the time)

After coming into contact with a lot of shitty computers lately I can tell you that Chrome does not handle flash well at all.

Chrome is the fastest, but its core is really weak. Firefox is the best overall browser.

Re: Google Chrome - Shockwave Flash freezing?
What do you mean with "fastest". Fastest at starting up? IE9. Fastest at handling multiple tabs? Opera. Fastest at rendering web pages? Depends on the composition of the web page because different browsers are faster at rendering different elements and nowadays the difference in page rendering speed is miniscule anyways and is bottlenecked by your ping to the server 99/100 rather than your browser.
Different browsers are faster at different things.
Opera may not be neck and neck with the Webkit based Safari and Chrome anymore in overall rendering speed but like I said, the differences in rendering speed since two years ago are insignificant to the point where other factors come into play. FF wins by far on user customization but start customizing Firefox a little too much and you can kiss its speed goodbye.
Apart from its features, some of which I can't live without I go for Opera for a reason I took for granted before extensively using the other browsers and that's its stability and responsiveness when having large amounts of tabs open. Firefox & Chrome are absolutely horrendous compared to Opera in this respect and IE despite becoming a legit browser just ends up crashing lol
All in all IE9 and Chrome are best for casual browsing (although I'd go for IE because of performance reasons), Firefox for the best personalized experience and Opera for the power user who values reliability and stability and built in features to avoid FF bloat.
To each their own thing - I can't live without the customizable search in the address bar, mouse gestures and stability of Opera as well as Opera Link so it remains one of the few things in the world I would go full fanboy over.

Re: Google Chrome - Shockwave Flash freezing?
Gonna try out Opera. When I go on a tab I haven't been on in a while on Chrome, Shockwave crashes/the tab lags etc.

Re: Google Chrome - Shockwave Flash freezing?
I think the problem could be too many tabs = using up too much memory = slowing down Chrome.

Re: Google Chrome - Shockwave Flash freezing?
Lex you'd have to post more than that if you want to find out what the problem is - system specs, driver versions and the format of the youtube video you want to play back (FLV, WebM, h264).

anyways jokes aside there seems to be a problem with the current version of flash because a similar problem happens on firefox as well.

How often do you clean out your Temp files, MT?

Re: Google Chrome - Shockwave Flash freezing?
I used Advanced SystemCare to get rid of every temp file, history etc etc like last week. I've probably got a virus/malware etc, but BitDefender can't detect it, nor can Malwarebytes.

Re: Google Chrome - Shockwave Flash freezing?
I've just cleared the cache again from inside the browser and it's working alright atm. I'll have to wait to see if it starts freezing etc again.
