Re: Champions League: Group Stage Draw discussion
Basel have sold Stocker/Salah/Sommer.
if Valencia could put 5 past them, I will fancy them even more

Well his transfer is still not official. Could stay still. Hopefully he does. Would be beautiful to see him get a deserved reception at Anfield.

Basel is a very tough team... don't count your chickens. As far as Liverpool chances against Madrid... If we're already qualified as the first place team come the second leg, then you have a chance in that one.

We faced them in 2009-10 brah. 1-0 at Bernabeu. 4-0 at Anfield. Dat rape when even Torres scored.

We've faced Madrid 3 times in European Cup history. And we've beat them 3 times
Walk in the park this group imo
Oh absolutely, we'll smash those Madrid *bleep* like we always do
Lmao, we're going to destroy Pool. Ronaldo is going to have his way with your god awful defence, especially in wide areas.

Re: Champions League: Group Stage Draw discussion
Meh...decent group.Should finish first if PSG play Cavani on the wing as they will offer little threat on the counter.
Madrid get scrubs as usual, but IMO Pool haven't a good chance of finishing first.
Wouldnt be surprised if the best atmosphere in England leads them to a home win.

McAgger if Madrid win you have to stop pretending to support Liverpool and come back home to Madridismo.

Re: Champions League: Group Stage Draw discussion
Why not? Basel have quite a good history playing against English teams. Kicked ManUtd out of the CL in 2011/12, defeated Spurs in a play off two years ago, won twice against Chelsea last CL group stage... So they will certainly not be afraid.Don't call me James wrote:Rwo actually thinks Basel will like playing us.
Last Basel - Liverpool meeting was in 2002/2003 and ended with two draws.

You weren't a Liverpool fan when that happened
In any case there have only ever been 3 encounters. I think the law of averages will eventually catch up lol

Still remember that 4-0 game. Torres, Gerrard and Babel were incredible that night. Probably Casillas best ever game.

How can it be Johnson vs Bale when Bale plays RW?
Besides either one of Manquillo/Flanagan will be starters by then.

I told Zeal we're bound to get Madrid the day we qualified
Can't wait for the re-match of the group stage in Berlin next June

Re: Champions League: Group Stage Draw discussion
1st - 2nd
Group A: Juventus - Atletico Madrid
Group B: Real Madrid - Liverpool
Group C: Bayer Leverkusen - Benfica
Group D: Borussia Dortmund - Arsenal
Group E: Manchester City - Bayern Munich
Group F: Barcelona - Ajax
Group G: Chelsea - Schalke 04
Group H: FC Porto - Athletic Bilbao
Let the games begin.
Doesn't Bale play on the right? He'll get Moreno or Enrique. Enrique can put up a fight but Moreno is still very green.

Torres was a special player for about 10-12 years. Let's stop pretending his career was brief. Players decline early all the time.

Johnson is injured now and there's no way in hell he's ever getting back in to the team
Though if he does play Ronaldo vs Johnson would be hilarious.

Can't wait for Sturridge to rape Ramos. Been dreaming about this day for about 5 years now.

He was indeed. his peak was immense. Unbelievably deadly. big game player that could win you a game in a split second.
