Lamela is being given the keys to stardom this season. No sticking him on the wing, no conserving him, he's getting the spot right in the middle and he's starting all games that aren't meaningless. Star of the EPL incoming. He's not for sale even for 40 million.

The Chicago Fire are reportedly closing in on a deal for Jermaine Jones that will see him earn around $3m/year and is one of a number of moves that are being pursued with the aim of "remaking the organization" both on and off the pitch according to Alexi Lalas and confirmed (to some degree) by Yallop after the match today.

MLS is apparently ignoring it's own rules to some extent (once again) to allow Jones to join the Fire directly, with MLS officials telling Lalas that "Designated Players of a certain threshold as determined by the league" skip the Allocation Ranking.

It won't mean much if Yallop remains as manager though, I fear.
