i just did a small calculation. Cavani makes 10 mil net per year, if i assume the tax in england is roughly 45%, that's about 15 mil pounds gross per year. weekly that's 288+k pounds per week. still bigger contract than RVP, Kun and Suarez lol

10 mil euros net is about 8 mil pounds net. it's about 15 mil pounds gross before tax in england, and those 15 mil pounds amount to about 288k pounds per week, since wages are reported as gross in england.

why do you want to convert 300k euros in pounds? we were saying that the biggest strikers in england dont make the kind of money cavani is earning at PSG. 300k pounds is rooney money, suarez, kun were around 200k, rvp 250k...

Cavani is one of the highest paid CF in football, outside of messi and CR of course.

That's not how it works.  The tax rate you pay is pro-rata where you play your games... so for a EPL team, EPL games are taxed at 45%, exhibition games are taxed in the countries that they're played and so are CL/Europa games.  The effective tax rates are lower than just the raw tax % of each country due to the exhibitions (US and Asian tax rates are much, much lower).  In fact, i think that teams are exempt from paying taxes in certain countries just so they come over.

At any rate, the effective tax rate tends to be around 10% lower than your raw tax rate.  So it's 35% in the UK.  That''s where i got the 300k per week rate.  10 mi net euros is 15,4 mil gross in the UK.  Divide that by 52 weeks and you get 300k Euros.
