However, they usually get a suspension, so they'll most likely be able to sign this summer, but not in winter and 2017 summer.

Barca ban took eight months to come into effect after all their appeals exhausted .

So both will get next summer window most likely.

As funny as this is regarding Madrid, I can't grasp how only the top Spanish clubs are apparently guilty. Looks like GOAT Liga's dominance is annoying some higher ups.

I doubt it. Barca could do that because the ban was announced in April. So it took until August until CAS made a decision which put the ban on hold. This one is announced in January. I don't see how Madrid can drag it out until July for 6 months. If they appeal now the decision will be before the transfer window opens. Especially now that a precedent is set with Barca.

They will appeal and have time this transfer window to blow the budget on whoever they want.

Atleti have a young team so I think they will manage.

Does this include coaches too?

no. only players cant be registered. this also means you can not buy a player and loan him out or anything. you can always buy, but only register in the transfer window.

There's rumor going that these bans will start in summer 2016, even with appeals as they have now enough time to make transfers on January window.

They won't get any big player if that's the case.Especially not from big teams.

That's some news. Although , i am pretty sure a few Real fans here at least were actually hoping it would be just the case not too long ago . Well i guess they got their wish ?

I wonder if Real and Atletico will be forced to open their wallet now while they still can , or simply trust in their own quality and mainly make depth signings . Doesn't seem like they will be able to buy this summer like some are saying. No way any appeal lasts till July surely . I mean even if it naturally does take a long time in any case , the outcome will be made sure to come before the summer , otherwise i can see some pretty big bias talk /conspiracy theories e.t.c . Doubt any appeal will drag long enough for either club , needs must , this transfer window is their opportunity to be prudent either way .

Very curious to see what both teams will do this transfer window . This also clears any doubt whatsoever if Isco , or supposedly James , were leaving or not. They definitely aren't going anywhere now .
