not gonna lie... i think Vidal or Pogba would have served us much better than Kroos with the purchase of James. But hey, we got Kroos for a decent price so there's not much to complain about.

It's not the question whether it is not a good newspaper. I don't think anyone would claim it isn't when you say so and you know it.

But with transfer fees, the question is where do you get reliable information?
You cannot, you can only get information from the clubs or agents.
Now when you say Nice Martin is very well informed about, and close to Monaco, that is nice but in the case of reporting transfer fees  that probably means they get their figures very directly from Monaco - if you say they have quotes that means they talked to the president directly, and he told them.

So what they are accurately reporting is what Monaco says the fee is.
It is absolutely not surprising this is a figure higher than what's reported in Madrid.

That doesn't mean you shouldn't 'trust' the paper, but whether you should trust the information the club gives out is another question

What i'm saying is that Nice Matin would just stop reporting stuff if the info they got was proven to be false... they've done that plenty of times. They don't rely at all on sports info, so they don't care.

That's why people here tend to read it religiously... they have good reporting ethics as a newspaper. Similar to "La Provence" in the Marseille area who has the same owner.

Think about it. Going into this transfer window we needed a new midfielder and a back up winger/cf and to replace anyone that left. We got Kroos which is the additional midfielder we needed. James would just replace DiMaria if he left but with DiMaria there James would be the additional attacker we were looking for. If DiMaria is sold we are still going to need another attacker and there aren't many left not to mention we will have created nearly a whole new time on the back of winning LaDecima
