Re: Official: James Rodriguez to Real Madrid
oh I don't mind
I rather prefer your president continuing with his glory hunting actionism to the thought of you consolidating on your strong showing of end of last season.
But I wont get too giddy as Ancelotti is a pragmatic coach who will probably deal with the situation.
You got to feel for players like Isco, or Di Maria for that matter though.
Or James Rodriguez lol as he'll find out soon enough.
Don't remember Ronaldo being shipped off when he was sad as he wanted a raise, but what's good for the ganter is obviously not good for di Maria.

Perez should ask the fans whether they want a player before making signings imo.

Re: Official: James Rodriguez to Real Madrid
yeah, im over it, if it's done it's done. disappoint end, i had hoped we would learn but oh well. We lose a lot with di maria leaving...
i guess we will go 442 now on a permanent basis because there is no other way to play with all these 80+ millions players. yes we have three of them, James, CR and Bale, 80, 94 and 100 mil bah gawd.
Bale-Modric/Xabi-Kroos-James/Isco
Benzema/James-Ronaldo
Isco should ask for a transfer out, he is done.

Perez must think he's playing Football Manager or something, hasn't he learnt from last time?

Bale or what? turned out fine.
Like any transfer this can go either way, all depending on our tactical set-up, and chemistry.

No way you extend Benzema for 5 years, 40+ mil net (90 mil gross pre tax adjustment) to have him sit on the bench for Isco no less Isco can't sniff his shoelaces.

I'm not talking about Bale, I'm talking about 10 years ago. Di Maria could be the next Makelele moment.

Re: Official: James Rodriguez to Real Madrid
If PSG are going to pay DI Maria 9 millions net, then i can see why he sold Di Maria because there was no way we would have matched those wages. i cant blame perez for that, it's just the football market. Just like Bayern sold Kroos because we made him a much bigger offer than Bayern could.

Re: Official: James Rodriguez to Real Madrid
@johnatan, remember that the makelele moment were accompanied by moves such as sacking VDB and getting rid of Hierro. there wont be anything of that magnitude but i agree that this move wrecks the fine balance we reached last season. It's up to James to step up and to play defense now.

Re: Official: James Rodriguez to Real Madrid
that's right, because that's usually why one buys the newest attacking wonderkid - to mop up defensively after the attacking stars you already have

Re: Official: James Rodriguez to Real Madrid
442 with Bale/James on the corner and Benz/CR7 up front won't happen... it's pathetic defensively, especially if the middle two are Kroos/Modric. Carlo is not that stupid.

this is just the equivalent of selling ozil, and signing a superior version of ozil one year later lol

Re: Official: James Rodriguez to Real Madrid
that's the only way you can fit all of those guys. THE ONLY WAY. otherwise you bench modric and play khedira. that's all you can do.sportsczy wrote:442 with Bale/James on the corner and Benz/CR7 up front won't happen... it's pathetic defensively, especially if the middle two are Kroos/Modric. Re: Official: James Rodriguez to Real Madrid
We could also play some sort of rotation with the 60+ games we're going to play. Unless Ronaldo wants to damage his knee further, he won't play every game, which will leave room for Bale-Benz-James frontline with a 3 man midfield some games. A lot of the front players will be interchangeable. We need to rotate more since a lot of our key players were injured in the latter part of the season.

Re: Official: James Rodriguez to Real Madrid
That's what you have to do then or have James/Bale/Benz/CR7 rotate regularly where each play 3 out of every 4 games. That's how i'd do it. We wouldn't need a backup CF then. Of course, CR7 will be an arse and refuse lol.

Re: Official: James Rodriguez to Real Madrid
I personally dont give a damn what formation we play, i want la liga at the end of the season. at the end of the day, doesnt matter who plays or who doesnt. they better get wins and as long as that happens, i wont complain.
SPanish El Mundo reported this moerning that we had agreed a deal with Monaco at 80 million euros, 7 mil net per season for james. 6 seasons.

Re: Official: James Rodriguez to Real Madrid
I hope CR7 reconsiders though, especially after how unfit he looked in the WC, and for the last matches in the season. If he doesn't take a backseat in some games he could shorten his career by some years.
It's also the only logical reason for signing James, because if CR7 isn't going to rotate atleast a bit, then it's not gonna be beneficial for anyone.

Re: Official: James Rodriguez to Real Madrid
James is more of a midfielder than goalscorer imo. We could have got Reus or someone to rotate with any one of our 3 goalscorers.

Re: Official: James Rodriguez to Real Madrid
It's true MT. Despite the WC, James was not a huge scorer for Monaco with 10 goals in 32 games despite being the attacking focal point. Monaco played a 442 with 2 strikers and James as a 10... so he had a lot of chances (100 shots for the season).
We'll see. He has the talent. I think he's being over-hyped due to the WC though. Great piece of business for Monaco here.

Re: Official: James Rodriguez to Real Madrid
Ronaldo wants to break Raul's goalscoring record, his personal best of 60 and will be gunning for his 3rd Balon D'or.
He's not going to accept rotation while he's still in his prime.

Well, if he wants to be able to walk without feeling pain when he's older. He should stop playing injured, or playing with overloaded joints. If he plays healthy he'll also be able to reach a high total.

Is this really happening? Kroos-Modric-Hames midfield? That doesn't make any sort of sense.
