2014 Pre Season Tour

Good lesson for the youngsters. Roma brought on their A players 2nd half, while we had more youngsters, especially in defence, and the gap in quality shifted in Roma's favour.

But given the harsh conditions (altitude, humidity) I thought our boys did well.

Another win. 2 for 2, so good so far.

He did play well. He tried to sit back and dictate and he was somewhat successful there(some 60-65%). Sprayed some very good passes and was willing to close down spaces. Sadly he didnt have anyone to aid him. Lingard was up the field most of the time and was basically playing as an AM.

LvG I think can pull it off. It Will be worthwhile investing time in transforming him rather than on attempting to revamp Cleverly IMO.

BTW, I thought Smalling had a solid game.

Luke Shaw looks a bit edgy, might be like De Gea, difficult start before he really gets going. His pace is freighting.

I hope LvG doesn't drop him like Fergie did to De Gea, it didn't help him at all imo, just delayed him.

I have no worries about Shaw. He showed his quality at the top level for 2 seasons.

Looks to be suffering from nerves atm. He'll come good.

Yeah, we saw Shaw vs Januzaj, he was a total beast. Hadn't seen Januzaj shackled like that before.

zaha the only player not to feature in both the games so far and rightly so I guess. LvG making his intentions clear.

Lad need to seriously mend his attitude. If he is asked to show up at training he has to. Its not some bloody Crystal palace he is playing for right now. and its not some clueless simpleton who is managing us right now.

yea the chaps nice.    Thats why majority of us want him to do well. He need to step up. The 'resources' at Old Tr afford suit him right now. Hope Lvg can work his magic wand.

He's off imo, Moyes, Solskjaer and now LvG, means it's him not them. I think if Fergie was here he might have had an initial impact like Young but fade away. We won't lose anything letting him go and getting someone like Depay who is better anyway.

Zaha is nothing special tbh.

Rooney was absolutely silent, and all of the sudden a strike like that   Great goal. His pass for Mata was also brilliant...I have to wonder what Skorpuski was doing on that one though, same goes for Amos in the second half   I guess thats what these young keepers need to learn the ways though. In fairness to Amos though, I dont think anyone expected Pjanic to pull something like that off.

Its a shame we dont have a chance of seeing these two teams play a full strength real match this season.

Perhaps next season we can face each other

kagawa looks so quality he is so agile ffs everytime he's on the ball he looks so good but playing deep doesn't get on it enough, give him a shot at #10 ffs

Does it look like Young will be starting many games for United? Asking for fantasy league

I don't think so, since we don't play with wingers. He can play behind the striker, but I presume Kagawa/Welbeck/Januzaj/Hernandez are all ahead of him. Also, we only play once week, so I can't see us rotating much anyway.

Nemanja Vidic, on tonight's game: "It's good that it’s a friendly match. I wouldn’t love to play against United in a competitive game."

First half will be starters, at half-time he will make 8 changes. For the Inter match, Van Gaal said 3 players will play 90 mins.

Perhaps rooney will be rested then. so zaha to partner welbeck.  valencia will also start.
lvg has said shaw is lacking fitness. So probably wont feature. which btw is a good thing. as James need more and more game time so that he can be the back up option in the pl to shaw.

personally also I hope to see kagawa today playing in his preferred position high up the pitch. and also herrera should need a rest as well.
