We're contractually obliged to give him 3 weeks holiday, we usually give them a month but van Gaal wants everyone early. He's also set out double training sessions and told the players they can sleep at Carrington if they would like to Laughing

Yeah, the squad above is just the preliminary squad. United site says there will be young players coming along, LvG probably just wants to see them before choosing.

A number of the club’s youngsters may also join the group, while announcements will be made at a later date regarding the involvement of those players who reached the latter stages of the World Cup.

ya I want to see what LVG can get out of some of the question mark players, like Henriquez and Zaha and Powell....players who are probably old enough to be in the squad now and not keep going on loan

and can give him reason to sell some of the scrubs in the squad, anderson, fellaini, young

Quite disappointed in the youngsters coming, especially players like Will Keane who will most likely have no future here. 4 goalkeepers too.

Apparently Powell was caught drink-driving and admitted guilty, was dropped in the play-offs for Wigan because of it. He also wasn't able to keep up his form from the first half of the season according to Wigan fans.

Doesn't look good to a new manager that, especially when van Gaal sold Lucio just for coming late. Really disappointing because he was our best loanee last season.

once again a player who is gifted but lacking the right attitude.
along with zaha he also will have to improve in that regard or else LvG pale

will simply kick em out as he wont be tolerating crappy behaviors in 'his' side.

James Wilson and Tom Lawrence played for the Utd U21s today. So not injured then.

Unfortunate I guess, because Van Gaal only had a day with the team, and had to rely heavily on the advice of others on who should go on tour

That explains it then. I don't know about why Lawrence missed out though.
