Hans can complain all he likes but at end of the day, he can't wait till he can get home and turn on his computer so he can look at Giroud ![Proud](/users/3313/22/97/24/smiles/4021133811.gif)

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Phil Jones at Blackburn looked like a top centre back in the making. Was young but still managed to be dominant.
Phil Jones at United has lost his way a bit because of injury, and because his been shoved in at right back and centre midfield where his technical limitations are shown more. He's yet to get a consistent run at centre back.
It's a bit like how Ramsey came back from injury and played right mid, left mid, attacking mid and right back before he got a consistent run in centre midfield again.
Between Jones and Smalling, I'd definitely prefer Jones. So would Man Utd, I'd think.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Last season Jones bossed us at both DM & CB.I'm a fan of him, so is Wenger, he did try and fail to bring him in back then. MU just lost borh Rio and Vidic, dont think they would do straight CB-CB swap, for all we know it would be Cleverley to play ultimate Cleverley- Ramsey combo ![Smile](https://2img.net/i/fa/i/smiles/icon_smile.gif)

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
So anyway, Alexis/Debuchy/Ospina is a pretty solid haul so far. All the people who said Wenger is intrinsically cheap, that Özil was a lucky, last-minute desperation move and absolutely no more, sure are quiet these days, aren't they?
I'm looking around on twitter and on the forums and I just don't see these people ...
That all said, I'm still feeling skeptical a DM will come in at all. I think Wenger will wait until next summer, when Arteta and/or Flamini likely move on. Love to be proven wrong here though.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
At this point, two of three first team signings we needed have been made, and it looks like one of the two squad signings will be made, too. And we know Wenger will replace Vermaelen if he leaves, so no worries there.
So three out of five so far is great so far. If we get that damn DM as well then this'll quite possibly be the best window we've had in a long, long time and most complete squad we've had since 2008, possibly.
Still have 18 days until the Community Shield, and 24 days until the game against Palace. Hopefully we can have business wrapped up by then. That'd be a nice change of pace.

Does the man deserve his own thread? Does anyone expect him to overthrow Wol anytime soon?
Excellent signing nonetheless. GK is officially sorted.

Barca just bought Jeremy Mathieu (30) for £15.8m... they could have gotten Vermaelen for less then that

they clearly didnt because Mathieu is a better player, and doesnt have a disastrous injury record.TalkingReckless wrote:Barca just bought Jeremy Mathieu (30) for £15.8m... they could have gotten Vermaelen for less then that

He has been mostly injury free for last 3 season... and when he gets a few games in a row (not as a LB) he is pretty good

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Not really sure I would categorize Eisfeld as one of the failed projects. He always looked like he could play in the 3 or 4 times he made an appearance. I think is biggest problem was that there just is no room fore another creative attacking mid for several years.
