Honestly think he is having a pretty timid tournament, aside from that goal yesterday he's been pretty mid
Watching England is like watching shit on a stick. Once Palmer gets in the team Saka will only be in contention to play LB. Elgunner is celebrating 4 dribbles. You couldn't make it up
that was just 4 dribbles in one half, and it was already more than any other player in the tournament in one game
both Palmer and Foden have gotten game time, and yet Saka is the one that mostly played on the right wing and the most minutes overall
the fact that he can play LB, is actually no knock one him... it's speaks to his versatility and how much his coaches believe in him
Vini would be rinsed at LB, that much i know
there's genuinely levels to this shit... outside of UCL stats, Saka beats Vini in every statistical category... it's like the Messi v Ronaldo discussion all over again

Re: Saka vs Vinicius Jr
What a crock! The new battle to replace Messi / Ronaldo
Is going to be Mbappe / Haaland. Players like Bellingham, Vini, maybe even Güler will creep into conversation occasionally, but highly doubt Saka with his 4 dribbles will even be mentioned except in England.

Calling everyone on the forum stupid but using statistical metrics to compare Saka versus one of the best players in the world.

Re: Saka vs Vinicius Jr
I thought this discussion was gonna be finally over when Vinicius was literally the man responsible for our league and CL title this season.
Saka is a good player but he is simply not in Vinicius' league, they are miles apart.

Re: Saka vs Vinicius Jr
Saka is better internationally but that is not enough, at club level Vincius led his team to CL and was decisive, can't see Saka doing that, he is not a player that will take the weight of the game on his shoulders
Statistically Raphinha is better than Vinicius internationally too, but is he the better player? Well quite obviously not at all

Re: Saka vs Vinicius Jr
okay good... at least up to this point i can get you lot to admit he is better internationally... the rest will follow, just give it time
Saka also has better league stats than Vini over the past two seasons (perhaps even other previous seasons too, i haven't fact checked so far)... in arguably a more competitive league 1 through 20
Saka is also better at tracking back, and putting in defensive work... in fact he is the best in his position at doing that in the world currently... no other wide forward comes close, actually
Vini has a flair and directness to his attacking game that Saka doesn't naturally have... and that's all he has over Saka

Re: Saka vs Vinicius Jr
Nobody even rates Saka that highly. We have pundits every week arguing whether Saka is WC or not and here we have Elgunner trying to convince us by hook or by crook that he is in the same conversation as the best player in the world
Thought we put this to bed last season. I suppose it'll be one of those threads that'll be kept alive by Elgunner everytime Saka has remotely a productive game.
We have about 4 wingers better than Saka in our team

Re: Saka vs Vinicius Jr
Stats again This isn't Moneybag or NHL. Stats do not tell the whole game as otherwise Jorginho or Cole Palmer are the best players in the world.
Unless we are speaking of bypassing out wide and sending in acute passes to the box, because Saka is not particularly adept in tight spaces, then there is not a single thing Saka is better at than Vini, not a single thing. And it's not even close.
Vini is not even a player I rated highly before this year. This year blew Bukake Saka out of the water.

i'm genuinely just trying to promote honest conversation... guess this forum has fallen so far down the toilet...
in all honesty, it was always only me, Jay and Cas with worthwhile football input...

Re: Saka vs Vinicius Jr
But there is no conversation to be had imo.
I am by no means a Vini fan or enjoyer and as much as it pains me to admit, he is way more quality than Saka in every imaginable way other than defensive input probably.
Saka should be compared to Rodrygo and Yamal, comparison with Vini is misplaced at this point in time.

Saka completed most of his passes and had an offside goal. WHY aren't we having a good honest conversation about that!

Re: Saka vs Vinicius Jr
I think we should change this to Saka vs Rodrygo. It’s pretty obvious to everyone except EG that Saka is no where close to Vini and soon we can expect a similar distance from Güler. I say Rodrygo is a better milestone that Saka can hope to achieve. At this stage, I think Rodrygo is ahead, but once Güler takes Rodrygo’s spot in starting lineup, Rodrygo is likely to go to EPL. Then it will be a valid comparison, same league, similar position.

Re: Saka vs Vinicius Jr
He was completely and utterly out of his depth yesterday despite Cucarella panicking over him like a bat out of hell.

Lol, Curarella whole game is moving like a bat out of hell. He may look like panicking but it isn’t and is effective. I just didn’t know how he keeps it up for 90 minutes.

Bellingham salvaged that ball after having the ball played behind him. Saka couldn't even do that right
