Good.

Also, unless Balo changes his entire game I'd ignore him in future selections. It's not like his moments of stupidity and games of awful play are nullified by regular top class moments. He is just a passenger in most games.

ltaly head coach Cesare Prandelli has announced that he is stepping down from the position effective immediately, and told the media a reason why:
“I take my responsibilities, I spoke with Abete and I have told him my decision. Before the renewal of the contract, there was the desire to camouflage the problems of Italian football. After, we have been objected to verbal aggressions, we became a political party and and we felt like people who steal money from the taxpayers.”

On a more positive note, i think Verratti played extremely well in DDR's place, was very tenacious and was more involved in attacks. Best midfielder today in my opinion.

Uh oh...

http://www.football-italia.net/51068/de-rossi-we-dont-need-panini-stickers

Daniele De Rossi slammed Mario Balotelli. “We need real men, not Panini stickers or characters.”

The Roma midfielder spoke to La Repubblica after Italy’s World Cup elimination, sealed by a 1-0 defeat to Uruguay.

“There were certainly components that affected the result, like the heat or the refereeing, but we must not cling to these things,” said De Rossi.

“We must forget about all this quickly. Actually, I take that back: we should remember well what went wrong and begin again with real men.

“We need real men, not Panini stickers or characters. These are of no use to the Nazionale.”

It is widely believed De Rossi was referring to Balotelli, who posted on Twitter a picture of the Italy Panini album with his sticker in every slot.

Balo was substituted at half-time for risking a second yellow card and appeared detached from the group after the game.

When Cesare Prandelli went to announce his resignation, the entire squad waited in the dressing room for the Coach to return except for Balotelli, who sat on the team bus by himself.

Post by zarola Wed Jun 25, 2014 2:40 am

ahhh I really wanna talk about the whole issues now... I think it will make me feel better.
you know, i didn't realize how shit we're about to become, and we couldn't even come out the groups now.

a semi-final finish before this decline woulda done wonders to my ego... but now what? where are we?

Look at teams like USA, Costa Rica, Chile, etc.,now you can't tell me on paper that these squads are better than us, but they perform better because their players WANT to be there, they're fighting for their life. And for some reason I just felt like we don't see this with this Italia.

I know the talent is gone, but what happened to the passion? What happened to the , no matter how my club form is, this is the Azzurri, and I'm going to give my life for it , attitude. You see this with a lot of the classics, and now they are leaving. Buffon, ffs, buffon, what alegend, I don't even have words. Gigi Buffon. Pirlo. ffs. so much passion. so much pride. AND also, such good players.

I never want to see Balotelli in an Italia jersey again, and I'd rather see Gilardino ahead of him if it came to that.

Who's the future? Who do we have? What the hell is going to happen guys. For crying out loud.

Our future can hardly field an 11, let alone 23.

team needs to be injected with some speed and athleticism. Need more players like Verratti and El Shaarway. Future ATM is not looking bright. But well see what happens.

since prandelli made some mistake, as far as i know, only he will know what will be needed.

prandelli is a good coach despite this failure. so thats why i hope he cools his head and reconsider coaching italy until euro.

if the likes of allegri, mancini .. arrives italy will be messed up really badly.

you guys are not gonna believe what zambrotta said in his biography. while mancini is a billion dollar worth of failure.

only prandelli can fix what he failed to do in this world cup.
i seriously hope he stays, and he gives support from the entire nation.

I am a milan fan, and sincerely i think the likes of balotelli is not the answer to this team like what de rossi said. italy can fix this.

de rossi is right.

de rossi motta veratti will be there.. but this italy needs some new faces. personally think this squad is not bad!! they just didn't have solution... they can really work out this issue.

but i think some players like candreva balotelli parolo patella should be out.

el sharawwy rossi criscito were really badly missed. hell i would even take the likes of bonaventura and cigarini.

i think italy squad werent bad at all... seriously they just played really bad... a bit of heartless performance... against costa rica and uruguay (with stupid referring)

Worst game I've ever seen.

I've never seen such sad sacks of - strutting around on a park as Italia in that game.

I understand what Prandelli was trying to do. Uruguay needed a goal, so he just waited until they attacked and planned to hit Uruguay on the counter. In other words, he played for the draw. So... waiting... waiting... waiting... Enter: vampire ref. Red card, game over, Italy lose. But Italy have nobody to blame but themselves. Prandelli took Balo off for Marco Parolo. MARCO. PAROLO.

I can't understand why - with a better team at your disposal - that you would play for the draw instead of going for the win and at least getting just 1 goal before sitting back to make it impossible for Uruguay to win.

I feel sorry for Buffon, who saved the team once, twice and then the inevitable third went in to end everything.

Goodbye Italia, hopefully by 2018 you are coached by someone who's got balls.
