Except that the comparisons started before Pochettino arrived. Justice for Harry Redknapp!

Is is something to be proud of though? Having a relatively low net spend, I mean. In my opinion, in order for it to be a source of pride, you have to back it up with trophies. Otherwise, what's the point of having a full vault when your trophy cabinet is as empty as a foolish man's promise?

Re: Pochettino new coach of Spurs
I'm just highlighting that he hasn't had much money to spend, and therefore achieving the results he has achieved with Spurs should be applauded.
I would like to see Mauricio in a team with money to spend where he feels like and see whether he can handle the pressure of having to win something.

Re: Pochettino new coach of Spurs
Gotta say he is starting to annoy me with these excuses. Did Madrid have Friday league games coming into CL despite winning 4 out of 5? No. So STFU and get on with your work.BBC wrote:Mauricio Pochettino says Tottenham Hotspur need help from English football bosses after his side were given one day fewer to prepare for their Champions League last-16 second-leg tie than hosts Borussia Dortmund.
Spurs, who won the home leg 3-0, drew with Arsenal on Saturday, after Dortmund lost to Augsburg on Friday.
"It's strange that no-one has said anything about that," said Pochettino.
"It's impossible that one team has 24 hours more to prepare. It's massive."
The Spurs boss continued: "We need help from the FA, we need help from the Premier League.
"I don't know whose fault it is. I don't know whether it is the FA, the Premier League, the club or the TV [who] wanted the matches to be on those days."
Re: Pochettino new coach of Spurs
Expecting either BC, Mole or cBarca to say something along the lines of other managers have complained about this before. To which, they have.

Other managers have complained about the same thing before. Not even news.

And all those managers are losers who need to find excuses for any issues they may have instead of accepting responsibility.

Only BC and nascar really rated poch now. Spurs don’t challenge for anything and bottle it big time. If oli finishes higher than poch after have just half a season to work with then poch could be sacked tbh.

Poch won't ever be sacked by Levy. Levy is a businessman and Poch has brought so much value to to club, despite no trophies. Especially when they are going through this stadium transition there is no chance.
Poch leaving for RM, now that is what I have been hoping for since last summer.

Poch at Madrid would, for the very least, force BC to say something nice about Real Madrid from time to time. Also, not use clapping as a form of tactical strategy like Solari.

I used to say something nice about RM every now and then, back when ADM still played for you. Or Higgy.
Would be shocked to see Poch leave at this point in time though, he seems committed.

He's a top manager for me regardless of the result. Hopefully he leaves Spurs so I can go back to being a full time hater of that side.

His team is so coherent, so controlled, so well drilled. The way they apply the pressing or sit a bit back while being compact, the way the counters are played, top coach.

Calm down peeps, beating bald fraud in a CL away game is as big an achievement as PSG winning Ligue 1.

Is this one of those times where GL gets ahead of themselves in praising a coach for getting decent results against the bald fraud in a CL away game, only to see him get pulverized to smithereens in the return leg and start praising Pep instead for reversing the result?

GL never praises Pep so I can't see that happening the way you describe it.
GL will however call Pochettino a bottler if City turn this around, which sadly is of course still a very real and good possibility.

This is actually true. Even Lopetegui was able to do it.

No. I think most of us expect City to win the return leg. It won't erase that Spurs played last night's games perfectly and it was in part Pochettino's merit.

Re: Pochettino new coach of Spurs
Even with the bad run of games, where Tottenham are currently this season is impressive with Winks-Sissoko being your starting midfielders.
Spurs need to invest heavily in the center of the park next season ffs. Outside backs could be improved too.

I did not notice that and I read it. Twice. Outside backs, lol. cBarca has definitely spent some time in a US soccer training camp or something of that nature.
