I really don't understand the sacking of Adkins. If Southampton thought they should have been in top 5 by now then they need to re-evaluate their board.

But Pochettino ? How do you think he will do ?

Rumours that it isn't a footballing decision and may be result of Adkin's affair with one of chairman's closest family members. just rumours you know

Pochettino has a good start with Espanyol. 17th when he took over and they finished 10th in his first season he came in at the end of Jan.

The next season, they finished again at a very respectable 11th. He got the best out of Osvaldo while before then he struggled in Serie A

His last season started pretty bad, he left early maybe just a third of the season gone, they were in last position.

But it's incredibly stupid, though. Adkins took them from League One to the Premiership, are 15th having lost just twice in last 10. Totally unfair and kinda makes me wish they get relegated now.

Apparently the decision was made some time ago.

Pochettino said he had been researching the Soton team "for weeks" (but then said "it's not important when I was approached about the job" when asked about it, lol, already quite a wizard with the press, isn't he).

Southampton were probably waiting for the team to lose a few games and then sack Adkins, but instead they were getting good results eco smile
