Re: Chelsea 14/15
Chelsea's stars face World Cup burnout fear with players featuring in more minutes than Premier League rivals:
Study shows 16 Chelsea players in Brazil had completed a total of 3,796 minutes of football – more than any of the title contenders

Re: Chelsea 14/15
Meh, it's not much worse than other as they've all been and they've all trained, instead of having a break.
Also, we've sent so many players to the WC, it was bound to happen.

Re: Chelsea 14/15
JT on this season's Premier League title race and our own objectives this year:
-
— via the Daily Mail
-
"I think we should be very competitive. We were close last year, but just unlucky at times. With the signings we have made and a couple of younger players who I think will surprise a few people this year."
"I think this should be a very good year. We want to win trophies – that is always the aim from the outset for me."
"I can see a lot more teams in the mix. First and foremost, though, we need to be solid, both home and away, because I think we dropped too many points against teams we shouldn’t have."

Re: Chelsea 14/15
I was just thinking how many goals we will need to to win the league. Looking at the squad I feel we are actually quite good enough to score 90+ goals in the coming season. I am expecting drogba-esque performance from Costa. Not a 30 goals a season, but scoring important and cruciall goals. With an improved and matured Hazard and Cesc goals will come from midfield and wings.
My prediction:
Hazard 20+ goals
Costa 15+ goals
Cesc 15+ goals
Oscar 10+ goals
Lukaku+Willian+Schurrle+Salah 20+ goals
Matic+rest of defence 5+ goals
Won't that be good enough to win the league?
My prediction:
Hazard 20+ goals
Costa 15+ goals
Cesc 15+ goals
Oscar 10+ goals
Lukaku+Willian+Schurrle+Salah 20+ goals
Matic+rest of defence 5+ goals
Won't that be good enough to win the league?

I think your numbers may be slightly off but I think we can score quite a few goals.

Ramires to score goals
I dont think Hazard will get 20+ goals, if anything he'll get 20+ assists with Costa scoring the most goals in the team

Re: Chelsea 14/15
Ramires can get 5-7 easily if we play 4-3-3. (assuming he plays)
Hazard will get around 6-8 goals from pens. With Luis in the team he should be getting more room now 20 goals is possible

Re: Chelsea 14/15
You are really underrating Hazard here. Maybe his performance in the WC has tarnished his image and many forgot how good he was for us in the last season! He scored 14 goals last season. Why cant he improve on that? He will get matured as the season goes by. His finishing will certainly improve. With Filipe Luis and Matic he will have lesser defensive duties. Cesc will share some of his creative burdens too. With some needed rest and competition for his place Oscar will certainly improve on what he has shown sin last January. And we now have a striker who will harass opposition defence and will be given extra attention, which will result in Hazard be given much room and more freedom. He is our primary penalty taker, too? SO, asking 20+ goals from hazard is too many?

I think he'll improve, no doubt. I just don't know if he'll get 20+
Maybe 17-19

Re: Chelsea 14/15
Actually last season is precisely the reason many aren't expecting 20+ from Hazard. Anyone objective, anyway. He was nowhere near as good as made out, for me. December-February he was brilliant but not all that much better than above average before and after that short period. His disappearing act after the Newcastle game at home is largely responsible for our failure to maintain the form we were in, the momentum we were building, and consequently, to win anything.

Re: Chelsea 14/15
Oscar's dip in form meant he had to take so much attacking responsibility. He couldn't maintain the high standard. Now we have Cesc who can become a leader in attack. And Hazard must be aware of Schurrle's continuous growth. this should be the time for him. Otherwise he should forget about being an elite forward in near future.
