Also just watched Let's Be Cops today, had to watch a movie in the cinema on my birthday. Was hilarious, just the right amount of ridiculous humour for my adolescent mind. Awful storytelling though, but who'd expect anything else from that movie. It did what it wanted to do, and it was hilarious throughout.
3.5/5 just to give it a rating hmm

Watched Oculus few nights ago.
Now I'm not a horror fan, and I usually get put off about the amount of similarties in your average horror film, but this one was quite good imo. It may have a cliched plot, but I liked how it grabs you and after 30, 40 mins it's just action and it starts playing with your mind.

Hmm surprised.

There are so many great villains in DC that it doesn't matter who comes first I guess.

So to make up for the lack of club football today, I spent my time watching 3 oldies.

2001: A Space Odyssey
Stanley Kubrick's classic film about space exploration that sparked hundreds of varying interpretations from critics and people who have watched it.
I tried to imagine myself as being in the late 60s, cuz I know at this time space exploration was at the highest interest in America and people probably never saw such an artistic take on film before at this time. As a matter of fact, that's what this film is to me by the way - I would class it as more of an art house film than as a sci-fi or drama.
Spoiler:
My rating: 8.0/10

Dog Day Afternoon
WOW. First of all let me just say WOW and take my hat off to the writer of this film. This is incredible piece of writing. To tell a story on screen that only goes down in a few hours so thrillingly and intense is oustandingly difficult, but this piece was aced.
Then I gotta point out the performances of Al Pacino and John Cazale, the guy who played Sal. Al Pacino ... I don't know how to say it... just watch the darn movie. As for Sal, I know he is mostly quiet in the movie, but just his presence and the way his body language and expressions give this expectation that he is going to crack anytime soon made it a super good performance for me.
The film is about a bank robbery that goes 'slightly' not as planned and ... I won't say anything further otherwise it'll spoil the whole experience.
I just love the storytelling in this and it's an absolute must-see.
And it's also incredibly funny, ffs the dialogues
My rating: 8.2/10

The King of Comedy
The lesser known, if not the least known of the Scorsese - De Niro movies. With reason though, because it's not great or spectacular or violent or psychotic as the others. However it isn't short in short nor on originality.
At the forefront of this lively upbeat and interesting film is a not-so-smart guy, nonetheless inspired and self-motivated, who just wants to make it as the next big stand-up comedian. Will he or won't he make it?
I honestly love this film, it is very enjoyable and a good laugh.
Spoiler:
My rating: 7.9/10

First Hulk movie was not part of MCU, and before Marvel starting making their own movie

2nd one is part of the MCU, so everything that happened in that has been in this world

Saw The Maze Runner. Meh. Could've been done so much better. The potential with the plot is incredible and they turned it into garbage. But I guess it's based on a novel so it's not exactly their fault.

It's definitely watchable, but would never watch it again or buy it to own.

Saw There Will Be Blood. Daniel Day Lewis is a phenom. Truly one of the greatest actors of all time. The scene where he tells the truth to his adopted son, holy shit. Also Paul Dano has got to be one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood. He has killed it in every role I've seen of him. The movie itself was great but the first half hour was too slow paced on me. Great movie with one of the best acting I have ever seen.

Kudos for the Paul Dano love
I also really like his acting, and he held his own against a mighty DDL.

There Will Be Blood is nothing less than a true directing masterpiece imo. One of the best directed and acted movies of all time.

Paul Dano is awful in There Will be Blood imo. Which isn't totally his fault, but also the fault of Daniel Day Lewis. As good as DDL is, the reason I don't consider him the absolute best, is that he sometimes acts way too big and that way makes everyone else seem much worse, instead of making them look better. Only like Paul Dano in Prisoners tbh.

Sometimes there should be a little more room for others to showcase themselves. DDL is just so great, that when an actor like Paul Dano has to act against him, it takes me out the movie, when he can't do anything. The only scene where Dano's insecurity works in the movie is the milkshake scene. Would have loved an actor in Dano's role who'd be able to show more confidence and act slick. I didn't really believe him.
First 20 minutes of There Will be Blood though... Best piece of cinema I've ever seen.

Yeah I think definitely. There were so many unanswered questions that it would be unfair on my brain to not at least see what happens.

Watched Prisoners again yesterday where Paul Dano is great. Agreed on him being an underrated actor, I've said so before as well.

Need to watch There Will be Blood...I started it one time at like 1:30 AM when I was super tired and fell asleep Laughing I liked the movie but couldn't keep my eyes open.

Can someone please give me a list of all of the X-Men movies, origins et al, so I can give the whole series a watch from the beginning.

I'm sure I've probably seen every single one but because they've been so far apart and some of them such a long time ago, I barely remember any details.

It would nice if it was in a chronological order as well Wink

Wrong. Wolverine is the main focal point of the X-men universe, as it has been set up by Fox. So in order to understand his character and what he's been through, you can definitely benefit from watching them.

Hope so, maybe that will result in a great version of Cyclops, if he is portrayed as the leader he is.

All the Stryker things that happened to him before no longer happened

and Hugh Jackman is getting old will be 50 by his next Wolverine movie, he probably only has 2-3 more movies in him, which include Apoloyse and his next Wolverine movie, and hopefully an old man logan

the next few movies will be more about the trio (Prof X, Magento, and Mystique

The things still happened to him. Just in another timeline. And his character and mental state is still the same as always. So if you want to know the main character there is still a lot to be seen from the other movies.

All 3 are just...fantastic films. Next up is Inside Llewyn Davis and then probably End of Watch. Maybe Cast Away because Zemeckis >>>
