Saw Oldboy, Rebano.

Don't really get the hype, seems like a standard hentai movie plot :coffee:

Nah, really good, haunting and gut wrenching movie at times.

Too bad I had it spoiled for me years ago (the twist)

I've seen like six korean movies in the last month and none of them have a happy ending Sad

though I suppose oldboy's ending was as close to a happy ending as possible

Have to analyze a film for my upcoming exam, and I can't really decide on which film I should choose. It has to be special in a narrative/visual/characters kind of way, so it is possible to write a good paper on it. It has to be a year old or so, so far I have been thinking of Memento or Crash, since their narrative structures are very unique. Would love to hear your inputs. It also have to be in a language I understand, so I prefer English or Danish.
Could really use your help, since I am so bad at making decisions like this.

American Beauty would be a great movie for this. Hell, there is a whole (long) section on the wikipedia page for theme's and analysis. I've rarely seen that for other movies. The film does indeed engage a fairly wide variety of issues and provokes a number of themes.

Interesting choice, would prefer live action though. For exams last year No Country for Old Men was the movie subject. A lot of our theory is about narrative structure, can't remember how it is up though hmm

Memento would be a good choice as would American Beauty.

If you watched Mulholland Dr. I would recommend that. It would be perfect imo.

I'm gonna write about Memento, I have decided. One of my top 5 films ever, so I have a passion for it, and that's the most important thing.
What kind of movies are you looking for?
Nordic noir: The Hunt is a really good dark gritty scandinavian movie, and the best Danish film I have ever seen (promoting it alot Laughing)
I'm going to watch these 3 in the upcoming days: Joe, A bittersweet Life and In Your Eyes, they should be good.
Also watched That Awkward Moment, average film, but a fair watch when your head needs to be completely shut off.

I would watch the Hunt (and probably will in the future) but at the moment need something English. Can't be arsed reading subtitles.

Like I said any genre. Slow paced, fast paced, comedy, romance, thriller, horror, mystery, drama. Come at me brah. As long as the film is goat.
