Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 9
WWE officials were initially disappointed with the reaction that Batista got for his return but when the ratings came in and they were high, officials decided that it wasn't Batista's fault.
They blamed it on the fans in Dayton, Ohio. The feeling now is that Dayton won't be getting a pay-per-view anytime soon.

The split between Cody Rhodes and Goldust may come at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view where a tag team title match is expected. There are plans for Cody vs. Goldust at WrestleMania XXX this year.
Goldust was originally signed as a talent through WrestleMania XXX but his deal has been extended through SummerSlam. Once that deal expires, it's expected he will become an agent backstage.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 9
As noted, last week's RAW was re-written because of the CM Punk situation. In order to keep fans from hijacking the show for Daniel Bryan like they did at the Royal Rumble the night before, WWE had Bryan cut an in-ring promo which he originally wasn't scheduled to do.
_________________________________________________
Regarding the reaction at the Royal Rumble, Randy Orton reportedly was irate backstage after the crowd hijacked his match with John Cena.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 9
Another one of CM Punk's issues with WWE is that he feels like he hasn't been fairly compensated for events in the past and that so far, nobody in the company has told him or anyone else how they will be compensated for this year's WrestleMania and other pay-per-views with the Network launching.
It's also said that Punk has been upset that no matter what happens, he will never be pushed as the John Cena-caliber face of the company. Punk at one point pushed hard to go heel again despite the fact that he was super over as a babyface because he realized that as a babyface, he'll always be number two behind Cena. His idea was to turn heel so at least he would be number one as a heel.
It's worth noting that there are a small number of people within WWE who believe the whole situation is a work, but the vast majority do not. Those who believe it's legit are very much split on things. Half of the people seem to think that Punk stood up for himself and did the right thing and should be applauded.
The other half feel he's being a baby about everything and shouldn't have walked out, especially without giving WWE time to write him out of the storylines. It's said to be a very polarizing issue within the company.

The latest on Sting is that he still has not signed but the general feeling is that it's a foregone conclusion that he's coming in.
While he's not expected to be rushed into a match at WrestleMania XXX, word is that the working idea right now is for Sting to possibly be the new RAW General Manager.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 9
With the drama that has unfolded within WWE in the past week, WWE creative is now looking at several different options for WrestleMania XXX.
The first is a Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H match with possibly the stipulation that Bryan gets a WWE World Heavyweight Title shot at Extreme Rules in Seattle.
If Bryan ends up working Triple H at WrestleMania, they may put Sheamus in a match with Kane. John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt and Batista vs. Randy Orton would still happen.
Another option is John Cena vs. Triple H, Sheamus vs. Bray Wyatt and Orton vs. Batista vs. Bryan in a three-way for the belt. The other option they are looking at is Sheamus vs. Triple H, Cena vs. Wyatt and Bryan vs. Orton vs. Batista in a three-way.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 9
Seriously, Batista? Why is WWE treating him like The Rock? Lesnar has had 0 title shots and he was 1000x bigger than Batista. Batista had only two good runs. The first one was when he turned face and beat Triple H for the world title. The execution of the feud was perfect and Batsta was really over. The second was his heel run and feud with Cena. He was gold on the mic then, and was an entertaining heel.
The rest of his career was him being second fiddle to Cena. He was supposed to carry Smackdown after Cena left but he was soooo boring. Undertaker and Orton were the ones who kept Smackdown relevant and later Edge/Undertaker/Triple H. I have seen the numbers on his prime years. John Cena, Undertaker, Triple H and Jeff Hardy were bigger draws than him. Hell even top heels Randy Orton and Edge probably sold more merchandise than him.
I thought they bought him back for the Lesnar/Batista dream match, instead we are getting another world championship run from the guy they pushed down our throats for years.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 9
It's Lesnars fault he only agrees to fight a handful of matches.
Can't have a champion who turns up 10 times a year and fights maybe 4 matches. I hope he becomes a regular because he's one of the best draws there is. Especially with Heyman.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 9
most of the guys you listed as being bigger than him arent really around now. WWE have their lowest amount of top stars probably ever. Plus Batista is the type that Vince is known to fap over. Then there's also the fact that like him or not, he's one of the few wrestlers to have a recognizable presence outside of wrestling. These are desperate days. I've got no problem with them pushing him while they build up people like Reigns and Wyatt into main eventers
Just wish they'd make him heel

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 9
He'll be a hell soon enough
Crowd treat him like one, and his actual personality is more in line with a heel. Not to mention i've always been against having these near 300 pound powerhouses as faces. Considering their movesets are always in line with a heels.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 9
yeah but Lesnar/Orton are both heels atm, plus isn't batista supposed to have a mini feud with del rio? another heel atm.
Batista is crap as a face. I want him as a heel going into WM.
You know what, screw it. Insert Bryan into the Mania main event so long as Batista gets turned heel and Bryan gets crushed.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 9
Vince wants to move away from the face/heel labels
Think it was on the last page or something. So these rivalries with two 'heel' type people that we've never been able to see can take place
I always found it bad how some what could have been GOAT rivalries never took place because both wrestlers were 'bad guys'
Instead you get a piss poor version of the rivalry where they make one guy a random babyface.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 9
Shield vs Wayett family is heel vs heel. It would have been really sad id we never saw this because both are heels. Logically speaking bad guys can still hate each other so the old face heel thing doesnt always work

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 9
Yeah exaclty. These sort of rivalries wouldn't be half as good if one faction was forced to randomly turn face. I don't see anything wrong with two 'bad guys' facing off
If anything it makes the whole deal more unpredictable.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 9
F4Wonline.com reports that a top WWE Superstar, who asked to remain anonymous, asked them to print the following letter in this week's newsletter:
"Internet is so funny. You all read the sites so you all should know the 'plans' for Mania. None of those plans have Bryan in a title match so the internet exploding at the end of the show is beyond laughable. Plus dont hate on Rey, he didn't book himself as #30. The way most of you were acting the company should have called an audible and put Brooklyn Brawler as #30 just to piss you off even more. over 50,000 mania tix sold and a network that will change your life for ever is about to launch, so just relax and enjoy the product the company gives you. By the way, didn't you all s--t on the wwe for the Sept - Nov ppvs last year and said you were done, but turned around to watch/buy the Rumble? Pittsburgh you were an awesome crowd and it was an honor to be in your building last night"
