Re: 2013/14 Winter Transfer Rumours Mk. III
Bad move Bayern
PSG will get mad and buy Germany in retaliation.
Mirko will not be loaned out, there is literally no upside for us loaning out Vucinic.
He comes back 6 months/1 year older, we have no money to show for it and we weaken our bench.
Would be stupid.

New AC Milan manager Seedorf's first signing could be Maher, according to reports in Italy. However it could be hard to sign him since he only joined PSV 6 months ago.

That said it could raise his price if he does well and you can sell him off to some turkish club or something who are willing to splash the cash on scrubs anyways

Amazes me these EPL clubs, unlike Italian clubs are stacked with money ,yet they resort to making cheap loan offers. If you want the player, just pay up or GTFO.We're not a charity organization.

True Hala, although even Gala were cheap as f*ck when dealing with us over Melo
Our best chance of getting real cash for him is either now or in the Summer, loaning him out would be madness
I say if he's 32 and still here, we might aswell just keep him around.

Re: 2013/14 Winter Transfer Rumours Mk. III
Its because of the PL's FFP rules.... there's now a wage cap of what clubs can add each year....
That's why you see a lot of loans.
The new Premier League rules state each team over the next three seasons will not be allowed to make a total loss of more than £105m.
In the same period, clubs whose total wage bill is more than £52m will only be allowed to increase their salaries by an accumulative £4m per season
That's why you see a lot of loans.

Surely the wage cap still applies to loan deals?

Re: 2013/14 Winter Transfer Rumours Mk. III
Why should it matter to a club like Arsenal ? Arent they supposed to be running on profits ?
And what has a wage increase got to do with a loan offer ?
EDIT : And as Tom said wage cap should still apply to loan deals no ?

Yeah i know but there's a loop hole there....
it says over the year, by the time you have to show your results to the PL those loan wages will be off your books.

Ah well, still. This is a move that benefits Arsenal and has absolutely no benefit to us.
If we pull the trigger on this, we're idiots.

Re: 2013/14 Winter Transfer Rumours Mk. III
Why are you treating this as if it's some sort of crime against Juventus?
In any case, we want a short term option, therefore we're going to be looking primarily at loans. You may think there's no advantages of loaning him out, but what you would get is a player off your wage bill for the remainder of the season while the player in question plays more and could generate more interest from potential buyers (unless he's only got six months left on his current deal or something).
Also, just because we have money doesn't mean we should be spending it on short-term options like Vucinic, especially when we're going to be looking at bigger targets in the summer.

Re: 2013/14 Winter Transfer Rumours Mk. III
The wage argument is pointless.
We'd make more money selling him for 3M than we'd get from 6 months of his wages, unless he somehow lights up the Prem in a short space of time then there is no benefit. At his age, his value will drop continually. That's all there is to it really.

Then you might as well go find another target.
We're ok with keeping him anyways unless Arsenal or some other club approaches Juventus with a decent offer.

Vucinic isn't our only target. He is one of the several. If there is no loan option then obviously we won't waste our time and try for someone else.

Re: 2013/14 Winter Transfer Rumours Mk. III
well, he's 19 and this is his second year of being an undisputed starting CB for Bilbao.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Is Laporte actually legit? Arq raves about him but i'd like a 2nd opinion

Also, he was by far the best player (with Rabiot) of the France U19 NT that went to the Euro final this past summer.
He's also now a starter for the U23 France NT team (Zouma/Umtiti but one of them has always been out).
Voted into the starting XI of best U21 La Liga team for last season (paired with Varane at CB).
Those are his credentials.
As far as play, he's like Pique. That's his style and he has the same physique too. He's an anticipation/tactical type CB with good technique. He's not the super athletic type, but he's fast enough. Great prospect. If you're expecting a finished product, then he's not it. But if you want an already very good player with a ton of upside and a lot of top league experience despite his age, then he's it.
If Bilbao want his release clause, i'd wait until the end of the year to see how he ends the season. One good season is not enough for me... need to see if he can do it again and shows progress. So far he has. But the key months of the season are coming up.
