No disrespect Arq, much love
Also, he was by far the best player (with Rabiot) of the France U19 NT that went to the Euro final this past summer.
He's also now a starter for the U23 France NT team (Zouma/Umtiti but one of them has always been out).
Voted into the starting XI of best U21 La Liga team for last season (paired with Varane at CB).
Those are his credentials.
As far as play, he's like Pique. That's his style and he has the same physique too. He's an anticipation/tactical type CB with good technique. He's not the super athletic type, but he's fast enough. Great prospect. If you're expecting a finished product, then he's not it. But if you want an already very good player with a ton of upside and a lot of top league experience despite his age, then he's it.
If Bilbao want his release clause, i'd wait until the end of the year to see how he ends the season. One good season is not enough for me... need to see if he can do it again and shows progress. So far he has. But the key months of the season are coming up.
we should get this guy then, instead of going after Pique (ugh!), Luiz (UGH!), or Thiago Silva, as Bild (UGH!) 'reports'. Well, Thiago Silva would be fine too I guess.

Re: 2013/14 Winter Transfer Rumours Mk. III
Mitroglou has developed a fondness for hat-tricks: Nine of his league goals have come in just three matches, as he notched four hat-tricks in just over a month.
Equally comfortable with both feet, and physically imposing and dominant in the air, the 25-year-old Greek striker also possesses a quick turn of pace, a fierce long-range shot and a repertoire of fancy flicks and tricks. His passing and hold-up play also brings his teammates into the final third to score, making him a prototypical lone striker.
A tricky, unpredictable and high-scoring forward, Mitroglou celebrates his goals with an imaginary rifle and is also nicknamed "Pistolero" like a certain Uruguayan forward already at Anfield.
According to the Daily Star's Gary Jones, Mitroglou is rated at £7.5 million, which, for a striker enjoying a hot streak and at the top of his game, would almost definitely be a snip compared to the other more established names that might be on the market.

And then both won't play more than a game now and then for you because of lingering groin injuries

I've only watched Hellas 3 times, Jorginho is an attack minded Midfielder who is best in the middle yes?
If so, Hamsik is off surely.

Where the fk is this Napoli money coming from now?
They make way less than us, the Cavani money has been easily spoken for. Why on earth are we cowering at the prospect of FFP when teams like Napoli are out spending us.

Jorginho can cover a lot of positions.I think he'll play as a B2B CM at Napoli.
Dont think he's a Hamsik replacement personally.

Re: 2013/14 Winter Transfer Rumours Mk. III
I get that, but that was a while ago now
We had some small installements to pay off, which was already taken into account years ago
Ogbonna + Tevez 25M
Matri + Melo + Giac was around the same figure
We need to stop crying about money when teams like Napoli are spending more than us.

Napoli apparently had a meeting with Rubin Kazan for M'Vila, according to Sky Italia. To lower the fee, they could offer Vargas.

Di Marzio wrote:Very intense hours for Napoli. As they were closing the deal for Jorginho, they were also looking to acquire another midfielder. As reported by our colleague Baiocchini, yesterday there was a meeting with a Rubin Kazan director, an important conversation on M’Vila. Napoli remains vigilant, should they not be able to close for Capoue they can work on acquiring M’Vila but that would have to be a straight sale, Napoli could lower Rubin Kazan’s financial demands by inserting Edu Vargas in the deal. Napoli continues to pursue multiple targets.
