Well, I guess Perez will be overjoyed when Aki Watzke keeps him informed that Marco Reus intends to stay

Re: 2014/15 Winter Transfer Rumours
Manchester United will continue their big-spending strategy in January, and have put Kevin Strootman at the top of their wishlist.
The Premier League outfit spent over £150m over the summer bringing in the likes of Radamel Falcao, Angel di Maria and Ander Herrera.
But The Guardian has insisted that Louis van Gaal will be given even more funds during the winter window to improve the squad.
And the paper believes that the Roma midfielder will be their number one priority come January, as they look to bolster their options.
The Netherlands international impressed during his first season in the Italian capital, but suffered a terrible knee injury towards the end of the campaign that saw him miss the World Cup.
Reports are that Strootman will be available to play in October, and Manchester United will wait until then to see if the 24-year-old is back to his full capacity.
If he is, then the Old Trafford will come in with a bid, thought to be in the region of around €30m.

Re: 2014/15 Winter Transfer Rumours
Di Marzio wrote:The teams now focus on January. The sporting directors and the agents turned off the phones only for few minutes, the transfer market window is still open in some foreign leagues, it could be an occasion to complete some sales. There are some interesting free agents too, like Donadel and Portanova. The most intricate and intriguing case remains Rabiot: Roma pushed to acquire him even if they knew it would have been difficult. PSG never lowered the price tag: €25M and 50 percent of a future sale. A high request to scare away everybody, including Arsenal. Meanwhile his mother-agent is at a crossroads: continue the talks with the two French capable interlocutors Garcia and Wenger or cease them. Anyway, it was important for Roma that the midfielder didn’t join Gunners. Roma want and can make another move in the next days, negotiating with PSG. Their biggest competitor will be Juventus, which are now silent. After the diplomatic problems with PSG due to the acquisition of Coman, the executives backed off, but only momentarily. In reality, they would willing sign Rabiot for free, after January. They would not field him in an offensive position, but they would forge him in the “Pirlo” position. Coman starting in the first Serie A game was a loud message sent to the Rabiot family: “The players born in 1996 can be starters right away.” Juventus and Roma continue battling also on the transfer market.

Balague and Tony Barrett are reporting Valdes to Liverpool. (Not in January though, more like next month if he proves his fitness in our medical tests)

Re: 2014/15 Winter Transfer Rumours
Roma will not sell Strootman for only 30m. Guy is on his way to being one of the top midfielders around and is absolute hell to play against, and after they've seen the kind of money ManU have been throwing around they will hold out for more IMO.
That said, he could really help their team and would be very helpful in shielding their less than stellar defence. Ugh. I hate that ManU is going after strong Dutch talent.

Strootman has been on our radar as far back as last summer before his move to Rome...will not be surprised if a CB and Strootman is our business of January

Same Roma who keep stockpiling midfield talent and already sold Benatia for less than that?

If Lamela & Benatia are anything to go by, he's not going to be sold for crazy money either
And the former two never had a terrible knee problem

If United are still struggling come January, then Roma have a chance to r*pe the shit out of them. And its January we're talking about, the market wouldnt be as open as it is in the summer. So i think only a huge offer would persuade them to sell him.Lets not forget this is also the same team who paid 45m euros for a Chelsea outcast last winter.

Re: 2014/15 Winter Transfer Rumours
Still not convinced they'll make over 35M euros
Maybe they'd demand more in January but if United or any other team for that matter waits until the next Summer they'll be pushovers.

Borini's disinterest in moving makes plenty of sense, to be honest. He doesn't deserve the crap he's getting for it from football supporters (of Liverpool and otherwise).

I don't disagree but they had a chance to rape teams for Benatia this summer and they didn't.

Some rumours he was waiting Inter, but we weren't able to sell Guarin ( Valencia interested , but his salary is so high) . Maybe it's true, anyway it's sure he didn't want to go in clubs of relegation battle as Sunderland or QPR

We were making a profit on him but his ignorant stubbornness cost us that. How do you expect him to not receive any crap.. he's clearly worthless for us. It's as if he believes he has a definite shot at being a legit player for us or any top team for that matter.
He's actually smart and knows that once he leaves us, his career is gonna go downhill and he'll fade into obscurity.

That was mostly down to Benatia throwing tantrums and not getting the payrise he would've wanted, his agent made a lot of noise about it too. Also he's a defender and 27 yrs old,in the end bonuses included they'll be fetching around 35m euros for him which is a reasonable price.People need to stop using that Luiz deal as a benchmark imo.
Strootman at 23,has a higher market value.Say if Roma are top of the table and maybe even surpass their group, would he go undersold in the middle of the season ? I highly doubt it.Anyways, much depends on the circumstances too.Known one really knows if he can get back to his best quickly in time for instance.

FYI I don't think they'll sell in January, mainly because I don't think he'll have played much.
Summer wouldn't surprise me though.

Re: 2014/15 Winter Transfer Rumours
Yes I can understand the frustration of LFC fans considering both Sunderland and QPR offered so much money for him ( he is not scrub imo , but he is not worthy of that price though ) . Anyway I think Borini understood too he hasn't future anymore to Liverpool , if even your maestro Rodgers leaves you and prefers you others ... basically he hopes in Serie A because it's the only league where he is still highly rated , because all remind him for that year in Roma with Luis Enrique as coach , where it was the best Roma player ,and infact most ppl was surprised about his selling.
I can't say he has same consideration in UK, basically rated as an Italian Assaidi.
January window market can be his last life line. I hope we'll sign him because we have just 3 CFs FFS

Di Marzio wrote:Milan are targeting yet another Premier League player: they are pursuing Liverpool’s Suso. The contract of the Spanish attacker expires in a year’s time and Milan blocked him: it’s unlikely that he’ll arrive before next season. Both parties are ready to close the deal, now they just need to wait for when it will be possible to formalize the agreement. Milan beat the competition from Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid, which negotiated the purchase of Suso from Liverpool for a €3M fee. Milan moved early, relying on the desire of the player. Suso’s future seems destined to be in Italy with Milan.

Isn't winter going to be in 2014 and not 2015?
Unless we are spreading it from Dec 2014-Feb 2015?
