The choice in defense we have. Flano is back though. Thank god, But we still have to play that clown Cissokho at LB.
But Flanagan is marked red. BTW, what's the currency sign and TS mean???

It's just fantasy football, currency is how much they cost and ts is their total score this season.

Tom Ince Set For Premier League Loan
Posted on the official Blackpool Football Club site yesterday...
http://www.blackpoolfc.co.uk/news/article/club-statement-261-1318086.aspx
Swansea appear to be favourites...
http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/12040/9135523/championship-blackpools-tom-ince-set-for-loan-switch-to-premier-league
Unless he hits some of the great goals in his official video I don't think most fans will miss him.

He's been seemingly set to move out of Blackpool for two transfer windows already, so I guess it's good it's finally happening. Could fit in nicely at Swansea.

You didn't watch the matches against Liverpool & United, then?Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Let me know when Hazard shows up against someone above 10th position.
Besides, the best player in the league(Suarez) "doesn't show up" against the top sides either.

That's been proven to be categorically false several times now. It should go the way of other footballing myths, like Pep only being able to succeed at Barca, Moyes overachieving at Everton, and Müller being a 1 season wonder.Blue Barrett wrote:You didn't watch the matches against Liverpool & United, then?Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Let me know when Hazard shows up against someone above 10th position.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V5
I put that in quotes because I'm assuming Mole is talking about scoring against the top sides and by that logic, Suarez has been poor. On the contrary though, I personally measure it with overall performances and not just by scoring so I wouldn't say that about Suarez or Hazard. If we are in fact measuring by scoring alone though, the point stands.RedOranje wrote:That's been proven to be categorically false several times now. Suarez's goal record against top 10 sides isn't poor either, though. As I've demonstrated in another thread earlier this month.

I don't think I've seen more than 3 goals Suarez scored against Arsenal/City/Chelsea/Everton/United, with Spurs and Newcastle being the exceptions. Please direct me to this thread. I'd love to read your take on it. I may very well be wrong.RedOranje wrote:Suarez's goal record against top 10 sides isn't poor either, though. 13/14
Tottenham 0-5 Liverpool :: 2 goals and 2 assists
Everton 3-3 Liverpool :: 1 goal
12/13
Liverpool 2-2 Chelsea :: 1 goal and 1 assist
Liverpool 3-2 Tottenham :: 1 goal
Liverpool 3-1 Zenit :: 2 goals
Arsenal 2-2 Liverpool :: 1 goal
Chelsea 1-1 Liverpool :: 1 goal
Everton 2-2 Liverpool :: 1 goal
Liverpool 2-2 ManCity :: 1 goal
11/12
Liverpool 2-1 Everton :: 1 goal (FA Cup Semi-final)
Liverpool 3-0 Everton :: 2 assists
ManUtd 2-1 Liverpool :: 1 goal
Everton 0-2 Liverpool :: 1 goal
Arsenal 0-2 Liverpool :: 1 goal
10/11
Liverpool 3-1 ManUtd :: 1 assist but created all 3 goals with an outstanding display.
http://www.goallegacy.net/t34209p126-luis-suarez-v2#1093256
And that's not even counting all "Top 10" clubs from those seasons, just the matches against clubs in European places and the derbies.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V5
Fair enough, I was wrong on that.
On the Hazard point, I'd say wait until the season is over before bringing that point up. Its not like he's gone completely missing in those matches and I've been content with his progress so far. If we had a decent finisher up front, he'd have a lot of assists in these matches too.
He's stepping up in a big way this season and I think there's still a lot more to come from him between now and May.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V5
I neither know nor really care what Hazard's record against top sides is, to be honest. If he gets a winner against Sunderland it's just as important as a winner against Liverpool or ManUnited or Tottenham. And one season (or half a season) is hardly a basis for any conjecture or conclusion about a player in his situation (age, change within club, etc).

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V5
True, and I agree with this for the most part. On the other hand though, I think its somewhat fair to measure a player against the best(as cliche as that sounds) sometimes. There are players who are just fast track bullies and nothing more. Hazard's talent, however, is very clear for all to see. It might just take a little bit of time for him to adjust to the more improved defensive schemes the top teams use against him and on a consistent basis. He's getting there.RedOranje wrote:I neither know nor really care what Hazard's record against top sides is, to be honest. Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V5
Flat track bullies win trophies, though. And in the long run a player has two concerns: getting paid (a boatload) and winning trophies. I doubt that a player who scores 10-15 goals a season against relegation fodder and wins a number of titles/trophies will be remembered in the long run as a "flat-track bully" over a successful player and I doubly doubt that almost any players cares if he or she is considered a "flat-track bully" by contemporaries or history.
Don't get me wrong, I love a player who shows up at his best on the big stage. The Gerrards and Kuyts of LFC history will also be more dear to me than the Rieras (even beyond the other issues). I just don't think it's a quality that should be used to objectively measure a player's worth or ability... it's a subjective thing.

A draw between Liverpool v Everton and City to beat Spurs would be greatly appreciated tomorrow.
Providing we beat Cardiff at OT ofcourse.

Out of interest, how is it a myth that David Moyes overachieved at Everton?RedOranje wrote:It should go the way of other footballing myths, like Pep only being able to succeed at Barca, Moyes overachieving at Everton, and Müller being a 1 season wonder.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V5
Midweek footy in England!
Tonight's games:
Liverpool v Everton
Manchester United v Cardiff
Liverpool v Everton
Norwich v Newcastle
Liverpool v Everton
Southampton v Arsenal
Liverpool v Everton
Swansea v Fulham
Liverpool v Everton
Crystal Palace v Hull
Liverpool v Everton
There's also the huge match between Liverpool and Everton tonight. Can not wait... but I am nervous.
Mata is there to turn United's fortunes around, although I'm sure all neutrals would like Cardiff to get something from that game, but I guess it's too big a task for the bottom-of-the-table club.
Hopefully Southampton give Arsenal a game.
Swansea need to beat Fulham, they haven't won in eight games. They've got lots of injuries, though.
Cabaye's off to PSG and has played his last game for Newcastle, we'll see if that gives Norwich the edge tonight.
Two promoted teams in action in Palace v Hull, can Pulis keep Palace's great form going?
